ohhhh yes i have heard great things about the 'no pants' approach. i let my DS run around diaperless at least 30 minutes a day, and when he pees he thinks it is the funniest thing. He also loves to try and play in the toilet.. maybe we should start some PL'ing....

Bad reaction to childcare

DS1 went through a stage of not enjoying the church nursery. He was okay when it was temporarily moved to a much larger room, but when it was moved back to it's original room he would get very upset. So it got to the point where DH would just stay with him in the nursery. Finally we signed up for nursery duty because it seemed silly for one of us to be staying with him while there were other people there to take care of the other kids...

If it tastes salty, I wouldn't try to add it to anything sweet. Stick to savory/salty flavors like soup, etc.

We just use a chair in the kitchen. Works great and in 5 year of parenting, I think only one child has fallen (and if I remember correctly, he was pushed by his sister )

It really is very normal. I wouldn't worry about it too much. The worst thing you can do is give him a big reaction, and start him believing that it's 1. a way to get a big reaction out of you and thereby get attention or 2. something to feel ashamed of. He's discovered it feels good and relaxing, and so he does it when he wants to feel that way. It's not sexual, not at his age. It's ...

I dress DD (2yo) in dresses all the time. Probably 3-4 days a week, at least. They're long-sleeved, cotton, and comfortable. She also wears thick tights with them. She is so petite that it's hard to find pants that stay up (when she's not wearing a cloth diaper). She also really likes to wear dresses. No biggie.

The two big things are a train table and wooden kitchen with accessories. Some smaller items are trains and cars, puzzles, and some musical instruments.

That always looks so uncomfortable, I'm sure they wouldn't do it if it hurt. My almost 10 yr old sits like that sometimes, I don't worry about it. I haven't noticed any of the others do it.

It's reasonable to expect him to sit and eat with you. He may only be able to sit for 10 min. Some kind of chair that gets him eating at the table is good. We have a chair that hooks on the table and has waist straps for my grandson. It's a Regalo.

L was a pink bunny. I had a Dumbo costume but he wanted to wear the old pink bunny costume so we let him. I took a few photos to show him when he is 13. I want to upload photos but I can tell I am not going to be given a peaceful moment today. Grrrr.

I'm curious about this too. DS still wakes once in the night and once in the wee hours of the morning to nurse. He's 10 1/2 months old and I would love to know about child-led night weaning.

How about a latch board? Maybe craft supplies, like an easel? Musical instruments? At that age our son really love his wooden xylophone and kids piano, and he still plays with them a lot.

DS did the same thing a couple of months ago! He would say certain words with the accent on the part that made the word sound, well, French! Like instead of just saying mama, it was ma-MA! I have no idea where he learned it and it went just as fast as it came.

I struggle w/ this too. I always make things I know they like but often get other requests or just plain refusals to eat what I made. After some long consideration, I have decided to let them go hungry (but often if they refuse they aren't hungry anyway)/save their portion and give it later as a snack/give banana or yogurt before bed. My reasoning - I am busy now. When they start kindergarten and...
