I re read my origional post and it sounded like i was a whiney little brat... so my main points were that i'm angry because my mom wasnt very good at being a parent. that i somehow ended up with more negative parenting skills from her than positive parenting skills from my grandparent who were also my foster parents growing up, and that i wish i could just wipe ...

I have no idea where to post this... thought I would try here. Basically I find that I am coming into conflict with most people around me on how to raise a child.... when it comes to babywearing, BFing, cosleeping, organic food, toys in moderation etc etc etc. Nothing new here, I guess most mamas on this board are in this situation in one way or another....

Sometimes I wonder if I am becoming a bit extreme, but more and more I feel the need to shield my child from so many elements of our modern culture that most parents seem to be just fine with -- poor quality gross food, mass commercialism of childhood, inane and dizzying children's entertainment, dumbing down of culture, adults acting like children and not in a ...

HI, I am very new here. This is my first actual post. I originally posted this in Nice to meet you. But I think it was in the wrong place so here it is again. When I took my ds to school this morning, I saw the same parents escorting their kids into school as last year and the year before. I let my dd go in by herself12 now) the 2nd wk of K and now let my ds(6 ...

If you can possibly afford it, or even borrow it, I would set up a camera of some type and then press charges. They have no right to be on your property. They have no right to harass you. You have the right to go about your life in peace.

I want to make a list of rules. I know that sounds so authoritarian, but I think it would be helpful to have. I have an idea of the kind of things I want, but I'd like to hear what others do for rules. What are your rules for your home? Are they written, in a list, or are they just "understood"? You're welcome to also share consequences to breaking said rules if ...

I would like to hear about family life without a yard... we are moving this month and have found a really great apartment that we just love - it has a tiny patch of grass in between the door and the road, and a balcony up in the trees in back, but not a good sized, fenced back yard like where we live now. It is right across from the wonderful city library, ...

Picture at: http://halftimelessons.blogspot.com/...d-healing.h tml As I sat today in my office (Starbucks), regrouping at an early hour after being discounted and discarded again, I suddenly had a moment. You know those times when you see something that you know will stay with you long after seemingly more important thoughts have escaped your mind? ...

We have a stokke tripp trapp/kinderzeat for our almost 3yo and we love it. We now want to get one for our almost 5yo. He doesn't need it to reach the table, but he is so restless and jumpy at meals we are hoping having a seat that fits him better and a place for his feet will help. The $250 price tag for the tripp trapp is a lot for us though. Any know of ...

My son really wants to join and everything looks alright, any problems with the general concept/organization? I know there's always a person here or there that can ruin the fun, I'm more interested in the whole program. Thanks!
