Clarisonic Skin Brush?
Published (2009-11-24 19:49:00)
Well, I have only had mine for a week, but sos far so good. My skin feels heavenly! The blemishes I had when I got it are healing and I do not have any new ones yet. One of my friends recommended it to me and her skin looks great! I have known her for 9 years and it never has looked better. She swears she has not had a breakout in 4 months!

The Dr. Bronner's will certainly leave a residue and need an acidic rinse. The company even states that it is not meant as a shampoo. However, they do sell a citrus rinse for use after using their product as a shampoo. Links to Dr. Bronner's page: Shampooing with Dr. B (FAQ page #9) Conditioning rinse For natural shampoos, I like the Aubrey Organics, but I believe they are soap based as well, which is not a problem for me since I...

I love etsy! (I sell there, too - but not soap :-) I'll poke around there (and maybe here on mdc to see if I can find out who sells there!) and see what I can find. Thanks!

Ladycup Users - a question for you
Published (2009-11-20 16:21:00)
I started using a Ladycup three cycles ago. I am 38, and have 3 children (c-sections). I have the Large Ladycup. It works great; no leaks, and very comfortable. I don't even feel it. However, from what I have read, menstrual cups are meant to sit low in your vagina; lower than a tampon. The ladycup sits really high. Seriously high. It took some practice, and bearing down, to even find it. I insert it very low, but it migrates north on...

Tribe for Hairy Mamas in 2009 -...
Published (2009-11-25 12:08:00)
I remove the hairs on my face- upper lip, random "beard" hairs, and when I feel like it I tweeze between my eyebrows. I also have a few random body hairs (mostly growing out of freckles) that just bug me for no reason, so I tweeze those when they get too long and start icking me out. I also remove the hairs on my big toes. But the legs and armpits are fuzzy.

Ivory soap is essentially detergent.
A castille bar is actual soap.
I think most of the places where you would get "natural" recipes mean "real soap" not Ivory

I got some foaming soap pumps off of freecycle. I put in a squirt of Dr. Bronner's and fill the rest with water. I wash my hands a LOT, and they don't get dry.

I am going to switch to Dr. Bronner's when this bottle of shampoo is empty, and I'm concerned about that, too! I'm going to try a lemon juice rinse instead of a vinegar rinse, and see if that works. I don't know; that might end up being too expensive and/or time consuming, so I hope you get some more answers.

I make one that is great and not so slippery. I usually make up some jars of it for family, since it is a bit of a process.
1c Canola, Olive, Almond, Whatever Oils
1/3 C grated natural soap (dr bronners, homemade, whatever)
2c sugar
Melt the grated soap in the oil on the stove top, in the microwave or doubleboiler. Remove from heat and add any essential oils, then stir in sugar....

maybe try posting it in off the grid? those country folk make all sorts of stuff.
soap is really easy, unless you are trying to do it with a toddler underfoot, then you have to invest in a baby gate for the kitchen. and because the baseboard is the thickest baseboard in the world you will have to make special plates and mounts for said baby gate and it will turn into the most complicated ...

I am in the same boat here. I am 35 and still breaking out. I broke down this weekend and bought a Clarisonic brush for my face. My friend swears by it and her skin has never looked better since she started using it. I'll post back after I get it!
