I use homeopathy, so that's always my first line of defense. I would think about bryonia or hypericum just from what you've written. You can also think about slippery elm. It's nutritional, mucilaginous and does a great job at coating the alimentary canal. It should provide comfort. You can get it in lozenges, but I prefer loose powder. You can make it into a gruel or a tea. I like to add honey and garlic as well. You can also...

Fairly recently there was a thread about strep and other ways to deal with it besides antibiotics, it's been within 2 weeks, I think, if you Search. Lots of people had supportive ideas that help a person deal with the strep as part of the natural healing process.

Mamafish9 is dealing with high antimony in her DS right now. She is chelating him. I'll let her tell you more about that though since I'm um... obviously not the one to talk about it.

Day 6: Pretty much same as day 5. Day 7 (last day of journalling): I've been reading up on this and have adapted my process a bit. I purchased organic unrefined (non-toasted) sesame oil and used that for the first time this morning. I also have been swishing with warm salt water for 1-2 minutes after OPing (with RealSalt) and then brushing with a tiny dab of Dr. Bronners unscented baby mild liquid soap. My teeth and mouth have never felt...

2yo JUST now getting reflux?

My kids slept at that age, unless they were reacting to something. You could try taking him off milk for a couple weeks and see what happens (you can mix coconut milk and rice milk; then you get the vitamins that are added to the rice milk + the fat from the coconut milk). We also make smoothies (fruit and coconut milk) for drinks, and chicken broth (calcium). Wouldn't hurt to try it.

Gotta love it! But, it wasn't so long ago that women would be subjected to hysterectomy for almost anything if they were past child-bearing. Who needs a uterus and ovaries, right? The sad state of gynecology just 20 - 30 years ago aside, removing a benign polyp (and, most of them are benign) is not a big deal in 2009. As soon as my mother was told she had a polyp on her cervix during an exam, it was gone. Mom thought she was going to have...

My boys and I have major food allergies. Through this journey towards health I have begun to see our symptoms and bodies' reactions as clues to how to help us heal. So for me a rash, an anxiety attack, high need for nursing, pooping infrequently, sensory issues, poor breathing (all of our past issues plus many more) were all signs about our health. I was able to take that info and try to figure out what went "wrong". I...

Thank-you so much for clarifying! Is diarrhea from a tiny dose of mag considered to be a symptom of low mag or a deficiency in a co-factor or both? I am going to try supp'ing w/ P5P...I bought a powder that has all the B's in it...is this ok too? Is there a way to rid the body of excess antimony? Thanks again for your input!

about the panic attack. I had one for the first time a few months ago and it was not pleasant.
I have never nursed so can't help you with that question but I was on the pill for a couple years and then went off it never to return. My primary reasons were:
-the hormones gave me chronic yeast infections
-and I was chronically anxious. The anxiety went away as soon as I stopped taking the ...

not sure- but what came to mind was baby calm- magnesium.
Maybe give him some of that and see if it helps.
Good luck!

When would I? I would not. My dd ran 104-105 degree fevers several times for 36-48 hours or so when she was fighting a virus at that age and up until 12 months. These fevers were accompanied by no other symptoms, I think letting the fever run it's course is the absolute best thing to help kill the infection. Tylenol is very hard on the liver and I deeply regret EVER giving it to my dd and I never...

How are you doing the cleaning at home. DH has had recurrent ear wax impaction to the point that I bought an occiloscope, check his ears and use peroxide drops at home if he needs it. It's honestly better not to remove it if it's not impacted, because your ear will produce wax up to a point then taper off. It turns into a cycle if you keep on removing a lot of it unnecessarily.
We use ...

If you cannot rest, I would take the fever reducer. For me elderberry shortens the duration more than anything else. Usually most symptoms are gone by day 3.
Best of luck in getting better quickly!!
All my kids had excruciating headaches with the swine flu, so I ended up giving each of them a dose of Tylenol.

I think keeping the area dry and exposed to the air, while using the antifungal cream is about all you can do. If he is out of diapers just let him run around in a long t shirt all day. If he is in diapers.... I guess do the same and prepare for puddles

Is he still BFing? Have you or he added any new foods to your diet recently?
A lot of kids drink more when they have reflux, because drinking "soothes" them even if it's the drink that is causing the reflux. A major cause of reflux is food intolerances, that's why I asked about new foods. The most common culprit is milk (also a common culprit for ear infections). Did he have any stomach bugs ...

I would take about 12,000-20,000 IU of Vitamin D for a few days-- that's an unsafe level long term, but safe for a few days. I would also make sure that you're resting enough, taking probiotics, and eating a healthy diet.

Yes, all your kids will be O. O is recessive so two Os can only produce Os. A and B are both dominant and type AB is co-dominant.

It's a reaction to being VERY low on mag. Basically, the body is extremely tuned into mag as it tries to get enough for use, and when it is introduced to the system, it overreacts.
It's late and I'm not explaining it well. But yes, totally possible . Start with extremely small amounts of Epsom salts - like 1 tablespoon in a bath. and work up from there,

Hey Friends! Maybe we can start anew with updates and progress. I'm loving hearing the processes. And, as I just took *my* remedy again after having a rough experience I figured this would be a good time. Welcome all who are using or thinking about using homeopathy!...

My first thought is allergies.
DS (he'll be 4 next month) has bags and gets at least 12 hours of sleep a night.
We've been back & forth to the pedia and tried eliminating certain things from his diet to see if it helps and it doesn't. I'm about 90% sure it's seasonal allergies and/or to animals because we do have a cat. But they won't test him at his age... and I'm not going back in ...

Dd and I had strep in June and yes, it was that bad. Everything you describe. Except I had VOMITING on top of it. Vomiting on strep throat is NOT FUN!! The doc actually wanted to get me checked out for appendicitis, because strep wasn't supposed to cause vomiting according to him. I had to take liquid antibiotics because I couldn't swallow. Dd had the same thing. It was horrible. I have since ...

If your gut is not happy with what the doc said, take him to another doctor, tonight or tomorrow. Did you tell the first doc he's unvaccinated, so she knew to include VPD as likely diagnoses?
Personally, I would start the amoxicillin (I very rarely give abx, maybe twice in my two kids lives). If he does have strep or another bacterial infection it will begin to help immediately. If it's a ...
