Thanks, mamas! Jill Adams is the only name that has come up on the ICAN boards as well - and everyone speaks very highly of her! Here's hoping she doesn't think SRQ is too far away

rcr - I've got an appt with Donna at 10 Moons Rising Birth Services & have also set an appt with Dr. Head in Alabaster who is supposed to be an hb friendly ob for piggy back care. We'll see how I like both of them. Where are you located? I'm in Birmingham.

Hubby and I are moving to Texas next week and downsizing drastically (by about 1000 sq ft). We are amassing a huge pile of pretty nice stuff to be given to the Goodwill, but you are welcome to it if you want it. Items include: 1. Clothes (mostly womens sizes 10-14), jewelry, shoes (size 8.5) 2. Large stockpot, pressure cooker, coffee mugs, etc 3. Vases, candle holders, house "pretties", 4 ft iron candle holders 4. Books 5....

Have you checked with Labor of Love Birth centers? So far as I know it's not illegal to do vbacs of any sort, but many hospitals will not allow them. I know the hospital where I had my boys at on the other side of the state will not allow vbacs of any sort as they do not have a constantly staffed operating room My understanding is most hospitals have switched to not allowing vbacs unless they do have the staff on hand at all times to...

I hope you like Intown. Margaret delivered my baby last August and I have worked with her as a doula. I love her! I am a mom of ten children and she is one of the only midwives around that practice true midwifery. If I can be of any help, please contact me. Tracy Cuneo, CD (DONA) www.fayettevilledoula.com

Good luck. I think Kay or Dr Tate would be your best bet for a natural twin birth. I would be shocked(!) if an all OB practice like that would not go automatic c/s or pull bait and switch for twins.

I just came here to post something similar. I just found out we are expecting!
I had an awful hospital birth ending in a c-section with ds - and I have NO DOUBT I want to use a midwife/homebirth this time around. But searching around on the 'net I can't find much info at all. I found the Birth Wellness website - but it appears while there is a midwife that will see you at home, you have...

I gave birth at TGH in 2003 and had a mixed experience.
I really liked the midwives at WHC. They took me in as a patient mid-pregnancy, as we moved to the Tampa area when I was about 22 weeks or so. I appreciated how they listened to my concerns and addressed them in thorough and warm manner. Gayle Dennis delivered my DS, and she was very supportive, helpful, and present throughout the ...

I don't know of any in Fayetteville, but the midwives at Intown Midwifery (Margaret and Anjli) aren't all that far away. They would be the closest ones that I would recommend.
The ICAN of Atlanta group has an active message board with provider reviews and vbac support, you should join us

I'm also from Tampa and had the hardest time finding a pediatrician. I delivered my first at a birthing center and declined the Vitamin K and eye ointment...no pediatrician in Tampa would take me.
I finally went to my midwives and they recommended Danuta Jackson at Better Health Medical Center. She's in Clearwater, so it's a little bit of a drive, but she's SOOO worth it. She is always ...

Hello! I am over here in Tallahassee. If you have to come over here for a hospital I think I might recommend Tallahassee Memorial Hospital over Capital Regional for breastfeeding friendliness. I would also contact Molly Shakar who owns this store:

You can find her contact information there. She is an IBCLC. I believe she does lactation consulting at Capital ...
