i really like our meos as well, but i think it would def need some sort of doubler. and yes you could probably just lay one in there easy enough

Snapping Prefolds

Actually most of my prefolds will be rather stretchy since I'm using bamboo velour. I see what you mean though...if I add snaps to the GMD's I'll probably need quite a few more. Maybe I'll just leave those pinnable.

Strong chemical like smell?

I would guess that it is from build-up and stripping would probably help. My stripping method is to squirt a little blue dawn in my machine (I have an old TL) and rinse with very very hot water until I don't see any more bubbles (open the lid while agitating and look for bubbles!). I turn my hot water heater to do this (be careful, of course!). You can boil them, too, but the above method usually works for me. I would strip them first,...

Snapping Prefolds

I had some Blue Penguin prefolds that I liked in theory, but they kept falling off when we used them coverless (which was the whole point).

chafing?

Normal from the legs moving against the prefolds. I dried mine in the dryer and it still happened. Just put some lanolin or aquaphor on those spots when you change him.

Severe diaper rash, is this the...
Published (2009-11-10 10:47:00)
A diaper rash that won't heal needs to be seen by a Dr as it might be yeast or a secondary bacterial infection. In my experience (with babies) any rash that doesn't clear up with frequent changing and cleaning is not going to respond to a change in diaper cream. We like the Aveeno diaper cream and also find that using cloth wipes with water and a drop of baby shampoo gets the bum cleaner and doesn't irritate as much as...

Vacationing and Cloth Diapering
Published (2009-11-11 16:05:00)
If it were me, I'd use sposies in that case. I would really not want to bring dirty dipes on the plane, and depending on the airline, you may have to pay for all the bags you check. But with sposies, you *would* have to worry about blowouts, which can happen at inopportune moments. I think one of the new CottonBabies diapers has disposable liners that can go in it. I think it's called the Flip. That could be an option. Similar idea...

There are no silly questions!. This might be silly in explanation though... I also use a diaper liner...but at times still use the sprayer, btw it was easy to install! I fold the diaper with the inside on the outside and use the flaps that snap to hold the top. I lower the diaper as low as possible without it being in the water and spray, starting with low pressure and increasing. If there ...

i know it would likely be a huge task, but maybe boil them? what type of diaper are you using? i think ive heard vinegar can be a no no under some circumstances, but cant remember when that is. maybe bleach them with a little bit of bleach?

I have found that the meshy type liners (like on the bummis stay dry doubler) feel drier than fleece.
The only ones I've been able to find would just cover the middle of the diaper, the wet zone. But I need something that would cover the whole front of a fitted diaper (because the wings get wet too, kwim?). I haven't been able to find anything like that so far.
Well, not entirely true- ...

Totally not what you are decribing but I'd love to see a regular cotton prefolds just like the new econobum with it a tradtional indian cotton twill but in two sizes a NB/small and medium/large. For the materials your suggesting which I' consider for night I still prefer all natural fibers.

I plan to hav a few of both. I have a few Econobums and flips one size covr (and diapers) I love them so far and having a few that will overlap sizes ect I think is great but sometiems I jsut want something perfectly correctly sized so having a few sized covers is nice as well.

Are you talking about one for cloth diapers? If so, I would say a regular lidded (but not sealed) trash can with a large wet bag as a liner works rather well. I love being able to use the foot pedal to open the lid of the can and just pull the bag out and schlep it down to the wash. I wash the inside of the trash can every couple of months and keep a fresh wave thing in there. We don't have ...

more cover will help if they are pull covers you can try hand washing between uses and just air drying so something is alwasy dry..
For washing at that stge I jsut did a pre-rinse in cold then one hot wash and dried. however honestly even days where we were washing daily and stripping and having crazy wash rountinues my bill never went up.

Le sigh. Sandys. I hate that they ONLY fit under motherease covers, because ME covers do not work for my kids.
Also, covers with slick PUL inside. Gives my kids rashes every time, so no blueberry coveralls for us. I'm forever looking at them because they're so cute but I know I'll hate them.

Favorite prefolds?
I have the Indian pf's from Jillians Drawers. I like them a lot, but I also want to try some other brands. Which ones are your favorites?

I used prefolds (infant size) and Litwrap or ImseVimse Soft covers. 0-3 clothes fit just fine. He was 8 lbs 8 oz at birth. HTH!

We do a prefold trifolded down the center of another and then a pul cover the dipe is totally saturated by morning. You could always lay a piece of fleece between baby and dipe. I change first thing in the morning and wash her bottom and let dry before diapering again and she fine although every baby is different. Good luck!
