AMD has tied up it's survival with Global Foundries and ATIC, both owned by Dubai's Mubadala corporation. If Global halts or delays construction in NYS, AMD's dreams of future CPUs and GPUs go up in smoke, at least for the near term. This mornings news ( Friday, Nov. 27th) about Dubai's finances looks even worse than the initial disclosures If Mubadala needs more money to fund GF, AMD will probably lose more of it's share in GF, and if ATIC cannot get additional funding, it would have a negative effect on AMD. GLDHANDS..NOT SURE IF YOU REMEMBER BUT WITH THISJjACKASS TALKING ABOUT A $3.0 BILLION WRITEOFF, IT LOOKS LIKE HE FORGOT THEY HAVE ALREADY WRITTEN OFF THE $1.45 bILLION TO THE EU, SO THAT IS NOT PENDING.THAN AGAIN, HE PROBABLY HAS NO IDEA.

This magazine article, quoted by Flint, talks about Intel selling chips below cost. he author evidentally, doesn't have a clue as to real facts. The EU, in their filing, did not specify the Inel was selling chips below cost. If Intel was selling chips below cost how come their margins are so high ? On the other hand, AMD continually loses money in huge amounts and has low margins.,...
