Its tough. I've had the same debate many times. I'm more stressed. I'm not as "happy" as I used to be (in some ways, its hard to explain). I always wonder if we would just be better off if I got a job NOW, even though it wouldn't be my "dream" job, it would be more financial security than we currently have. In the end, for me, it all comes to down the fact that if you subtract the extra...

Argh. I used to have such a great groove, I made good decisions, had a good network of people, etc.? Ever since we moved here, I have been off my game! I feel like a majority of the decisions I've made since we moved here 3 yrs ago, have not been good ones. While I love school, I just don't know that I can/should keep this up for 1.5 more years. I am taking student loans for all of it but had expected to get a partial scholarship of...

Math retention
Published (2009-12-09 15:30:00)
I'm studying for the GMAT. My plan is to take it mid-Feb. As I expected, math is the area I need the most work/improvement in. I've never been great at math but I also wasn't bad (took calc in HS) so I mastered all of this years ago. Unfortunately, I haven't taken a math class in 20 years and don't use anything other than basic algebra so I've forgotten everything! I am having the most difficult time retaining...

I would stretch out when you graduate by the 6 months and look into the TEACH grant.? I might go that route when the time comes even though it'd be a lot tougher on me just to be done quicker.

So sorry to hear about what is going on. Streching out school might be a good option. Also switching schools could be a lot of work - sometimes they don't outright accept credits from other schools (e.g. course descriptions don't match) so I would be careful on that one. good luck !

I'd get rid of a van I was making payments on and buy something I could own outright. I would also probably stretch out school if that meant I could bring in a bit more money or not be so grumpy and stressed out.? (That is what I am doing, as a matter of fact.)

Winter Break
Published (2009-12-11 16:10:00)
I took my last final yesterday and am out until Jan 4. I go back the same day the kids do. My break is gonna be all about cleaning the house and getting reorganized and ready for next quarter. I'm also gonna do some reading ahead and be better prepared to jump in when we go back. I need to get some info packed into my head so I'm prepared for clinicals.

My last final is on Dec. 17 and I go back to school on Jan. 4th so I only have a little over two weeks off! We (the students in my program) have to start back a week earlier than the rest of the school because we are beginning our clinicals which are off campus.

I had a similar post several months ago, prepping for my GRE.
I was quite good in math in high school and university but after 15 years, I had the same issues. My opinion is the best way to retain is practice. First. I looked over the major sections to see what I needed to relearn. Then I practices a little almost every day. I borrowed extra books from the library and online to get more ...

Yeah, I'm trying to take a few days to think about it. I don't mind going for a few hours Mon thru Th in the mornings, but I always leave fridays open since CJ is out at noon every other week. Plus I have to pace myself and I' m learning what I can and can't handle as I go. I ended up switching to the option with the Math class for now. That may change by the end of the week. LOL Somewhere ...

WOOHOOO!!!! I am SO friggin' excited right now!!!! I got a 97.3 on my last Spanish exam!!!! All that is left is the final, but I only needed an 85 on each to keep my A, so now I have a really nice cushion for the final. It looks like Spanish will NOT be undoing of my 4.0GPA like I thought it would be!

Nothing back this week so far but last week I got an A- on my english paper about crowd violence, an 82 on my Medical Concepts tests about the nervous system, brain, spine, eyes, ears and endocrine system, and a 100 on my quiz in Medical Terminology.
