Nice tips!
But I think not every digicam can do this? Only DSLR's and maybe high-end bridge cams that permits long exposures can do this.

I think we're in the same boat. Been thinkin of gettin a new dslr as well.
...comparing the D5000 and D90, they're almost the same, but even if the D90 has the higher resolution LCD, the D5000 wins coz of that articulated LCD - which gives it added versatility in shooting.
the GH-1 is also good, but the new micro four thirds format is still relatively new... not too many lenses ...

I've tried taking pics with that clear plastic on - the pics came out all blurred.
same thing with an n95-8gb, 5800, and any other exposed lens phone - I guess you just have to take care of that lens... like maybe keeping it always inside a pouch?
