Wow, thank you Madam Broshkina! You learn something new everyday. I had no idea that it was available. If I would have thought about it more, I would have remembered that the pages were about the size of a screen. Thank you for going above and beyond to check this out.

Hello jLou, and welcome to MobileRead. Yes, it's very easy to convert your Mobipocket (PRC) files to ePub format using a free program called "Calibre". We have a forum dedicated to it right here . Go there, download the program, and just ask if you have any questions. The only thing we can't do, I'm afraid, is give you any help in removing DRM (ie "protection") from commercial eBooks....

Welcome, Lee. Good advice from Cassidy. The prices on newly-released novels are pretty much the same for both devices (usually $9.99 for best-sellers). Sony is moving to the epub file type this month (which everyone uses but Amazon) and Kindles have their own format. You might want to check out B&N's Nook as well.

Right now, I am waffling between the Kindle and the Sony Daily. I am just waiting for the release date to see what the screen quality will look like on the Daily.

Hi j k harrison, welcome to MR!
I've been very interested in the 600, but I can't justify the purchase (well, to be more accurate, my WIFE doesn't think I can justify the purchase) because my K1 works fine. I really love the streamlined dictionary access, though.

Hi Kerry and welcome to MobileRead. I would definitely advise waiting for the Nook to come out. I was all set to buy the Sony 500 but ended up waiting for the 505 and am really glad I did.

Hello
Hello.....just found your group, while trying to find information concerning e-readers. I want to include one for the wife's Christmas, but I'm finding it difficult in deciding between the Kindle 2 and the Sony 900. Any suggestion from the group, will be appreciated....
