Looks in a guitar are irrelevant. It's all about what its packing under the hood or how well its made and what kind of wood is used for acoustics. I never, ever go for a guitar by the looks of it or the name branded on its headstock. I never buy a guitar by looking at it actually. When I am in a store I walk around plucking the E string on each guitar on the wall and I can tell by the sound of it whether I want to take it for a test drive...

Like spike said, looks are irrelevant - for me at least. If I were to pick a guitar through looks only, it would be a Les Paul.

If you like a good film trip while you're tripping, try the film Koyaanisqatsi with music buy Phillip Glass, and the sequels. It's not a sync movie, but it's kind of like syncing in feel. Then again you could always stick your headphones on and go for a walk outside.

Metal has to be my most hated. For the record, rap and hip-hop are two completely different genres of music. Many people get them mixed up. I don't think they should be the same category. I like hip-hop but I hate rap.

2010 Rock Hall of Fame Nominees
Published (2009-11-13 14:35:00)
I think the sex pistols were right, the Rock and Roll hall of fame really is a pee (used in place of the more offensive variant) stain. I don't understand why people such as LL Cool J and Madonna are nominees, when so many other bands which obviously have made more of an impact on rock haven't been inducted. For example, Rush hasn't, yet they're thinking of adding in all these new people. I don't really understand it.

Well, thank you, Retro, I recently met a girl who is impressed very easily, as long as you have a decent knowledge of music. I'll mention this band next time we talk and see if she gets excited. Last night I brought up The Subways and she got quite enthralled.

That's pretty good. To make it better try not to put any pauses inbetween the notes as much. Make it a little "smoother" I guess you would say. By the way, how long have you been playing?

Rock and Roll hall of fame is one of the most idiotic organizations in history. Madonna? MADONNA? I saw her on vh1 classic just the other day playing the guitar. She stepped down a power chord and sounded like a dying horse. Jeff Beck and Eric Clapton? Jeff beck and Eric Clapton are great, great guitarist but they already in with the Yardbirds and Clapton with CREAM. Clapton needs to be in 3 ...

I don't even bother to listen to trance. I voted for rap in this one because out of all these genres, it's rap I don't consider music. It's poetry. Come on, can you do an instrumental adaptation of a rap song? No, absolutely not. I fear for classical, jazz, and blues in this thread. I really do.

They're not that good in my opinion. They're too overplayed on the radio over here (and I don't see why, I don't find them to be that good) and it's kind of annoying to see their shirts, merchandise, etc everywhere in clothes stores.

Why didn't I hear about this? Surely they can't do anything without him. I just couldn't imagine Aerosmith without that voice...such a great voice. I knew they were "taking a break" so to speak because of the incident, they were coming to Ottawa on tour, they had to cancel But I had no idea that he actually left! This is the problem with only getting to see bands on reunion tours, ...

Thing was, that my sister in law and brother were arguing about not starting it correctly, we did it with the LP, As far as I recall they argued throughout about it. I enjoyed it well enough as it's two things I like combined, just next time I'll do it without the relations around. You can do this with other films and albums, I forget which but there's a website or ten devoted to it. There's ...

I find myself downloading songs what people my age would call "old". I have to agree, older versions of what we call "songs" are a whole lot better than todays music. There more catchy and more original. Nowadays we have voice synchronizers that can change a singers voice tone and that isn't original. I may like some of the new songs they have nowadays but old music is more enjoyable and more ...
