Shopping Galeries Lafayette on the Boulevard Haussmann. Printemps next door to it. Eating, Chartier 7 rue du Faubourg Montmartre. Best and cheapest restaurant, authentic brasserie atmosphere. Go to Disneyland Paris. It's brilliant.

Metro day pass is well worth it if you're making more than about three or four journeys (e.g. Hotel -> Attraction A -> Attraction B -> Location C -> Hotel). The Louvre can take an entire day even if you aren't an art-o-holic. If you are, though, I highly reccommend also doing the Centre Georges Pompidou, which is full of modern art (well, from the 1900's onwards). There's also the Musée ...

I'd recommend doing a boat trip round the entire island of Manhattan in good weather - it was astonishing. Make sure you have a walk in central park, see the Chrysler and Empire State Buildings up close and diet or not find a proper NYC diner to soak up the atmosphere.

Crikey! I don't think I've ever had a bad hotel. I did stay at a Pension on a Greek island once which while being absolutely lovely had a bathroom infested with tiny little flies, about fruit-fly sized. That was... odd.

We went in February, it was snowing lol. We booked the half board option, we got vouchers and could use them in various eateries, it saved us a small fotune an evening meal would def cost £100 for a family of 4 so, it's def worth booking the food options before you go. Everything is very expensive a 500ml bottle of coke cost £2.50 inside the parks. Not sure how old your kids are but I...
