my Pre-ADSC 1.5 mile run result
Published (2010-03-16 12:17:00)
So, I recently did my pre-ADSC test in Shrewsbury, Shropshire. Everyone who attended on 10/3/2010 did 2 team tasks each, jerry can test and the pin-ultimate 1.5 mile run. Bare in mind that this was just a practice run, there were some who got ridiculously fast times of around the 8 minute mark which is absolutely un-natural if you ask me. Now, building up to the pre-ADSC I had set out a nice track for myself which is in Telford Town Park,...

I'm doing my dissertation on military training and discipline, and the effects it has on how people identify with their bodies, for example, as something they had control over, and now the military has control over, or maybe how being supremely fit gives the soldier a sense of empowerment and strength that most civilians don't have. For the purposes of this research I'm not interested in the morality of military action or...

How much time do you get to cover the 150m with the cans? Is it pass/fail or a graded result?

Will my eyesite let me down?

sounds like assisted you should be ok. not as if your chatting up lamposts or owt like that. Infantry require your right eye to be the stronger of the two - purely because you shoot right handed due to the weapon, therefore aim with the right eye. Long or short sightedness that is correctable to the required standard is not a worry but any form of condition that affects the eye i.e detached retina (what i had) can be an immediate bar.
