You can try using Power Prompt to launch system restore with, that allows you to run things as system, not user, just be careful with using that one though, because in doing some things as system, the desktop could possibly be recognized as system and cause you to lose interaction with it, but, to use it to just launch an application usually works where other methods wont. thats a copy I have, I wouldnt be able to tell you where to find it...

That card does not meet the min. Spore specs , (or spore creator specs ), even though the memory passes the requirements, the graphics rendering part of the card doesn't pass the requirements : 1. The min. cards start with the ATI Radeon™ series 9500. 2. The card supports up to DirectX 8.1, but it doesn't support DirectX 9, which Spore requires DX 9. I suggest getting a better graphics card, even if you get this card working with...

sfc doesnt speed up process's, its just to replace most missing or corrupted system files. as far as the defrag you need to check and see if the "DCOM Server Process Launcher" is running, in the run dialog box at the start menu type "services.msc" without the qoutes. look for the service I mentioned and see if its started, if not double click on it and in the box that comes up make sure that you...

Your best bet at this point might be to just do a Repair install  at least with that theres a good chance of not losing any of your files, any custom applications would have to be reinstalled, but you would have a real good chance of not losing documents and other files

System Restore WILL NOT WORK for restoring personal files. It restores system files ONLY. Music will not be restored. As for the "Undo Delete" It doesn't Exist, and if it did, it WOULDN'T Work. It is possible to use third party software to restore file fragments. IT DOES WORK. But I don't know a good enough third party software to try. I've tried a couple, but the've both given me viruses. ...

Some of the better malware can survive formatting. You should check your HDD cables first to make sure that one of them isnt the fault (that can cause that error too) but, if that isnt the cause, you should zero the drive out then reformat again, that would wipe anything that may be there completely. try using DBAN then reformatting and reinstalling

Open the registry editor ( start menu>run type in, regedit , then click ok) and at the top click "edit>find..." and put the DLL file in the find box, put it in exactly like it shows up in the error (VersionCue.DLL) and let it scan, when it finds the key with the value for that file, verify its the right file by name, then delete that value, not the entire key, just the value for that DLL file. ...

Let me ask where the disk came from that you used to try the repair install? is it a copy, a slipstreamed disk, or an original installation disk? and what are the specifications on your system, detailed?
