Some security programs other than Norton protect their files from being changed, which interferes with System Restore. Could that be the problem?

Hi everybody İ had the same problem, and tried all the ways recommended by different friends here in this forum, but no one could solve it! But finally, I myself managed to find the solution. It’s so easy: (after setting windows so that it shows all hidden normal or system files) go to “Temporary Internet Files” folder through this address (we assume that the drive in which Windows has been installed, is “C:”): C:\Users\[User...

Bitlocker - Self-enabled?

How can Bitlocker enable itself? The user claims innocence. The workstation does have TPM 1.2 and the OS is Windows 7 Ultimate.

Remote Console winvnc.exe missing
Published (2009-11-27 12:02:00)
Ive had the same issue for so long. Finally using my total commander search engine I found it under C:\SyAM\system_monitor\agent\ I have looked everywhere. As well inside the Add/remove programmes, on Kasperskys site, nothing is to be found really. I guess part of it is due to that I have been looking for it using wrong search phrases. I think my plan is just to delete it, both from the drive and inside the startup procedure. take care.

Hello, is there any way to disable the Stealth mode "feature" in the Windows Vista (Seven, Server 2008, Server 2008 R2)? Here http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd448557(WS.10).aspx the MS says: "Stealth mode is enabled by default", but nothing about disabling. This behavior is against RFC and causes some serious problems with security scanners installed in our network. So, is there any way of using...

A few people have posted productstate values but they appear to vary between product manufacturer. WscGetSecurityProviderHealth might be the way to go, though having to use wscapi.dll might be a pain if you're scripting. There are some useful links from this article: http://blogs.msdn.com/alejacma/archive/20 08/05/12/how-to-get-antivirus-information-with-wmi -vbscript.aspx

Hi, thanks for the post. Regarding the error code 0x80280023, it refers to "No endorsement key can be found on the TPM".
A TPM can be turned on (Active & Enabled state) without having an Endorsement Key (EK). The EK is the root key for everything the TPM does, and after it has been securely generated inside the TPM it will never change. If an OEM has not created an EK ...

Here is the answer to your problems. Go to your control panel under add and remove programs you will see a hot fix for kb929777. Uninstall this hot fix. Windows will tell you to reboot, do it. Download the kb929777 for the windows website not the auto update site, (if you do it will install the hot fix first before the kb929777 and then kb929777 will not install again). After successful update ...

In Windows Vista (and Windows 7) Documents and Settings is a junction point : a hidden, protected operating system file that's not meant to be accessed by users. It points to the user-accessible folder C:\Users.
