Hi Sprint, It seems to be system crash issue and we need to analyze the crash dump file to narrow down the root cause of the issue. Unfortunately, it is not effective for us to debug the crash dump file here in the forum. Therefore, I would like to suggest that you contact Microsoft Customer Service and Support (CSS) via telephone so that a dedicated Support Professional can assist with your request. Hi Bromcsan, You may try to configure DC as NAT server’s Default Gateway. 1. By default, Windows Server 2008 R2 use Network Location Awareness service (nlasvc) to identify networks and find the associated saved settings for the network, the NLA service will use a Default Gateway or SSID to identify a network. This identification is conducted by system automatically due to security consideration. We cannot change the network profile...

Hi Lauren, According to your description, I understand your XP clients didn't install the software via GPO when they started. You need to run "gpupdate /force" to finished the software installation. This issue possibly is caused by Windows XP's fast logon feature. To turn off Fast Logon Optimization, you can use the following policy setting: Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\Logon\ Always wait...

There is a workaround, you can navigate to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Shared Folders. Do all Microsoft employees attend the same brain-washing sessions? If I hear one more Microsoftee repeat this as a workaround I just might flip!

Hi, You say that you have removed "Standard User, Network Administrator and Local administrator". In SBS these users are actually template users that the console needs to create other accounts. If you remove them, the console won't be able to create new users. I'm not sure what you mean with the 5 users license. You should be able to create as many users as you want. I'm not a license expert, ...

Hi,
You can do this by setting the ProfilesDirectory value in an unattend file. However, this setting should be used only in a test environment. By changing the default location of the user profile directories or program data folders to a volume other than the System volume, you will not be able to service your Windows installation. Any updates, fixes, or service packs will fail to...

Hi Ian, If you open Task Manager, click on the Processes tab and sort by memory you should be able to see what apps are hogging the memory ? Otherwise from the "View" drop-down menu select "Select Columns" and tick the boxes for "Handles" and "Threads" - sort by these and see if you have any big hitters. I've had an AV app consume moderate amounts of memory, but, a huge number of handles and ...

Hi and thanks for your answer I allready added Domain Admins with Full Access on Share-Level. But I thought, when I'm working on the server (not over a share), only NTFS-Level-Set Restrictions are important, aren't they? Someone said: You use Share-Permissions to enter from outside and NTFS-Permission to enter from inside or when you entered from outside. Thank you Alex

I have installed Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 on my test system. It is a fresh format/install - not an upgrade. It is running on a Core 2 3GHz with 4 GB of RAM and a 500 GB drive with nothing other than Windows 2008 R2 x64 on it. Windows installed without any issue whatsoever however I seem to have issues revolving around network functions (not a network driver as I can browse the web ...
