Windows 7 Backup
Published (2009-11-24 16:15:00)
Matter of fact there is. Let's start with the backing up proccess it self. The back up occurs once a day MAX unless I have to manually start it. I don't mean to insult you, or microsoft but I am simply going to compare it to that of the apple counter part, and Acronis. Apple backs up every hour, and Acronis has a feature to set the time (backing up every 5 min is the minimum). As I am currently writing this I am backing up using the...

After further research, I found this issue is the common phenomenon. In my opinion, as the backup file vhd is stored in one file, it would save space base on the cluster technology, or the vhd file can comprose the original files. At this point, you can feel free to use the computer.

We're beating a dead horse. When you system restore it loads a previous system state but does not restore all of the programs. Residual registry entries may be found as a result. This has bean a known issue for system restore for many years. The effectivness of system restore is another issue entirely. To keep matters simple and so not to overwhelm the OP please refer to the post provided by Linda Yan which should resolve the issue.

I am not against a great Tech Support Form I just want someone from Microsoft who has developed the programs to stand behind their product with full support. Then you chose the wrong product to purchase in the first place. You will never speak to anyone that makes any decisions nor will you be helped by anyone who had anything to do with product development. You will however be pushed around (if not flat out hindered) by fanbois and marketing...

Hi, Please be sure that you use the same workgroup name for all of the computers on your network which is also emphasized on Networking home computers running different versions of Windows . At this time, please try Safe Mode with networking to check the issue. 1. Restart your computer and start pressing the F8 key on your keyboard. On a computer that is configured for booting to multiple Operating Systems, you can press the F8 key when...

Cannot eject removable usb drive
Published (2009-11-28 16:13:00)
Now that I see what I need to, the software for the free agent package is what is locking the drive. The software is transparent, it is activated by the disk button. I always avoid that type of device and select basic disks, so that I can just copy what I want to save. I have a server so I use that with Windows Backup.

Do a search of the entire hard drive for files of type .jpg, which is what your pictures should be on your computer. See if the ones you are missing are anywhere else on the hard drive. As for managing pictures, I prefer to do so manually. I have a D:\Cannon folder that I load all my pictures to. I manually create folders (YYYY_MM_DD) as needed for new pictures. I regularly backup this ...

There are no Windows 7 (or Vista) drivers available for that notebook from HP. According to the specification, the graphics is ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9600 graphics controller with 32 or 64-MB DDR SDRAM 4X AGP I don't see any specific Windows 7 driver for it, but, if you're willing to try things, check out Mobility Modder .

Hi, According to my understanding, the switch /MIR is equivalent to /e + /purge which includes the empty directories. While you configure the parameter /R:0 that specifies the number of retries on failed copies to 0, the /MIR switch will create an empty folder so as to indicates that the copy process is completed including the empty directory. Thus I recommend you to configure the ...

I think I have a slightly different problem on 64-Bit RTM Windows 7 systems. The test won't start. It does not apear to be related to a file and I don't go to exotic addresses. It works on my Lenovo notebook and not on my Extreme. Windows Seven can detect that the system is not setup right by the parameter in the control board (system) "Under Contol Panel | System the display shows "The ...

Ok, then we have a problem! But as we know all problems can be fixed :) Start regedit.exe and browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Currentcontrolset\Contro l\Print\Monitors\Standard TCP/IP Ports and remove the entire key (folder) with the name of the port you are deleting. You might have to restart the Print Spooler service after deleting that key to see the change go through. As always when ...

Sounds like a problem in you installation, I use several USB devices, sticks galore, and a few USB powered disks. I have no problems on my machine. Mind you I am using the RTM now, but I recall the beta and RC had no problems either.

Having a similar issue...windows 7 network assigned a password when I set the permissions...it tells you to keep it to use on your network. But now, every time I try to access my files from a Vista or XP around the house...that's every time you shut down and reboot, or sleep and re-wake, it asks you for this 10 digit password....it's infuriating...can't get any work done...so even though this ...

Hello ComicConBooBoo,
First of all, remove all unnecessary hardware devices from the computer and upgrade BIOS to the latest version; try entering Windows safe mode to test whether it is a third-party software/hardware compatibility issue. If so, please download and run Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor to check the reason for the issue. If the issue is caused by some ...
