Sounds like you may need an updated driver that is compatible with Windows 7. You need to contact whom ever you acquired the modem from; either your ISP or the manufacturer.

USB Problem x64 Windows 7

So glad I found this thread after many days of searching for answers. It seems to be at the core of the problem I'm having. I'm able to copy back and forth to external HDs (though I haven't tested extensively), but if I try to sync something from an external drive to my iPod, the iPod ejects itself and iTunes stops recognizing the external drive. I eagerly await the Hotfix, and shall monitor this thread for its arrival. Hi,...

Looks good, keep an eye on the fans so that dust does not foul them and you should be OK. I suggest stress testing the machine for stability for a few days playing a hard-core game and see how it holds up.

Hi, I would like to know if any error appears when the computer restarts. I suggest updating BIOS and device drivers first. You can also test it in Safe Mode: Keep pressing F8 upon restarting and then choose Safe Mode. In addition, you can upload the dump to the http://skydrive.live.com/ using your Live ID and I will check it: 1. Click Start Button, type "%SystemRoot%\Minidump" (without quotation marks) in the...

BrookB, The release notes for that driver direct you to Dell for the driver, the supported products do not list the nvs110m.(even the newer Vista driver from nVidia does not support the nvs100m) As it is a proprietary configuration by Dell, you'll need to try their Vista driver. Also, install the Notebook system software(Vista version) and the Dell Quickset (Vista version) to get a stable system and hotkey functionality (Fn+?)...

Hello Vegan, First you might go to Device Manager , right click your modem device in the list and select Update Driver Software ; then click Search automatically for updated driver software . Note : Drivers on the Windows Update site are directly provided by hardware manufacturers. Microsoft tests drivers in various environments before they are published; however, we cannot guarantee all drivers will work on all hardware platforms as...

Hi, This issue can occur by incompatible network adapter driver or incorrect network settings. Here are some suggestions you can try: 1. Upgrade the Wireless network adapter driver for Windows 7. If there is no Windows 7 driver, please install the driver for Windows Vista in Compatibility Mode. 2. Bypass the router and connect to DSL modem directly via wired cable. Does the issue persist? 3. Hi glaker,
I am sorry to let you know that Aureal 8830 soundcard stopped being supporting since Windows XP. There is no more driver update being published from the manufacturer. I am afraid you may have to replace your sound card which fully supports Windows 7 to resolve this issue.
Thank you very much for your understanding.
Sincerely,
Linda...

Which one is guilty? "the x64 version of windows 7 causes freezing of the system" "I am pretty sure that the problem is in the chipset/motherboard" I'm running W7 x64 on a AMD ATHLON 64 X2 4Gb RAM on a Sapphire Mobo. I do NOT have any problems with freezes.

Thank your lucky stars you can't get it to run. As has been said many times, registry cleaners seldom do anything good and often create other problems.
Why do you think you need to run the cleaner? Do you have a problem? If so, explain the problem here and perhaps someone can help you solve it.

Windows Update suggested I update my Realtek NIC driver and as i had had problems with it, i installed the driver. However, the driver was a version from 2007 and the original was from 2008. It also did not work at all - "The device could not start" device manager told me. How do I escalate this to MS or are they not bothered?
You need to go to http://www.realtek.com.tw/ and see what ...

Interesting, I have a Canon A560 which is similar. When I plug it and turn on the camera, it works fine. I have 2 cameras, both are mentioned on my site. Both work fine with XP up. I also should point out that I do not use Canon's software at all, I have other programs to manage my pictures.

You didn't mention if you ran windows update and if it had a driver, and if it worked or not. Go to "other devices" in Device Manager (control panel, system (in icon view), click device manager link on left) and post what is there.

Windows 7 has had issues identifying certain batteries, as you can easily see searching the forum. Due to such prevalence, it is safe to say the issue will be addressed. Thank you for reporting your troubles on the forums. Increasing the amount of memory only helps if you are running low, and the system is having to actively use its paging file. Without knowing what kind of workload your system is running, it's hard to say. If you are never using more than 4GB, then no - increasing the amount of RAM won't do anything. If you are routinely using more than 4GB, then yes, increasing the available memory will help....

Hi,
Thanks for posting in Microsoft TechNet Forum.
While encountering error code 10, we usually update the device driver to narrow down this issue. Based on my research, you can download updated version v7.4.102.102,A02 from Dell's Site.

Contact the manufacturer of your MB, or sound card, and check for Windows 7 drivers. The manufacturer/vendor is the source for hardware drivers.

You might want to pester Dell for drivers. If you do a clean default install, and can get the network up, use Windows update first. The video card is no problem that I can see, but I only have 1 8600 GT and there is a driver on Windows update. The Vista drivers in the Dell disks should be OK as the logo requires both 32 and 64-bit drivers.

Hi,
I would like to confirm the following questions first:
1. Is there an exclamation mark or question mark in Device Manager?
2. Can you hear sound when booting in Ubuntu?
At stage , it is highly recommended to replace the speaker by a headphone to check this issue. If there is still no sound, please go to Device Manager , right click ...
