Hi, Please note that You should replace all existing Exchange 2003 and Exchange 2000 front-end servers with Exchange 2007 Client Access servers before you move your mailboxes to Exchange 2007. We don't support putting an Exchange 2003/2000 FE server in front of an Exchange 2007 Mailbox server. Outlook Web Access and Exchange 2007, Exchange 2003, and Exchange 2000...

Indeed, I had wrongly defined a send connector for the 2003 server. I just added one for the 2007 server and it's ok now. Many thanks!

Hi, That's not supported if the DC is the 32-bit OS. You need to use Exchange 2007 32 bit installation file to extend the shema for the AD: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=444C259E-605F-4A82-96D5-A2F448C9D4FF&displaylang=en For more information, please refer to the below article: http://exchangeserverpro.com/apply-the-exchange-server-2007-schema-extension-using-a-32-bit-schema-master Thanks Allen

Thanks cn9, So for straight mailbox moves, do we have to worry about updating everyone's AD accounts to point to the new server? Since the new Exchange Server will have a different name, is there anything that we should be aware of such as reconfiguring clients to point to the new server, etc. ? We have some Office 2003 and some Office 2007 users. Also, we have a Blackberry Server, how will the migration affect...

Hi Skurt,
Please enable protocol logging on the Send Connector and post related information here when the issue occurs.
In addition, would you please let me know whether the Exchange 2007 Server needs to deliver external messages through your Smarthost? If yes, please ensure the Smarthost is configured correctly to allow Exchange 2007 server to relay email.

Hi.
I wonder if anyone has tried to use the transporter suite for Exchange 2007 against 2010? I know it won’t be supported but does it work? :) We are looking on using it for migrating from oracle collaboration suite to Exchange 2010. I'm hoping to not have to jump to a 2k7 mailboxstore first as that will be quite painful as we have 6000 users and hoping to do a big bang. If we are to move ...

Regarding your first question, you will need to install first CAS/HUB and than the Mailbox role. You cannot have them all on 1 machine and separate mbx later on.
To load balance exchange 2007 CAS, check this article from Henrik Walther: http://www.msexchange.org/articles_tutorials/excha nge-server-2007/high-availability-recovery/load-ba lancing-exchange-2007-client-access-servers-window s-...

Hi..
First, you must make sure that all mailbox including public folder, OAB already move to New Excha nge, all connector  (send and receive) already set in new Exchange.
After that, you just only need removing Exchange 2003.Â

Exchange Server 2003 cannot be installed on Server 2008. It has to be 2003. As for the migration plan, you are better off adding in another back end server, then migrating the mailboxes over then doing a backup and restore. To introduce another back end server just install another Exchange server in the organization.

Please double verify if all the content has been replicated into the new public database at first. Use “ Get-PublicFolderStatistics ” to compare the source folder and target folder, see if there’s any difference. If there’s no difference between the source and the target, please remove the instance of the folder on the old one
Please follow the question 11 in this FAQ to rise...

Make sure you have a Client Access Server in each site where you have a mailbox server. Also, you may need to enable Outlook Anywhere for the user and make sure you enable the RPC over HTTPS feature on the CAS.

Per my knowledge, there’s no native tool for the migration from FC to exchange 2010 on Microsoft for now.
You can try to use Microsoft Transporter Suite with older exchange version (Exchange 2003/2007) to move the data, and then migrate to exchange server 2010
Transporter Suite contains a set of tools for migrations from both Lotus Domino Servers, and generic IMAP/POP ...

Hi,
You MUST be the owner of the mailbox to open the OOF assistant so that means that you must be logged using the user's domain account.
Creating just the profile on a machine that has no joined your domain or using a domain account that is not the owner of the mailbox will not work.
You can ALWAYS enable/disable the OOF from OWA.
Regards.

Holly Smokes! While I don't have experience with migrating such a large mailbox, I wanted to add some suggestions: Have you looked into how large the attachments are? If you sort the view by size, you can remove the attachments from the mail items, while retaining the message. How about backup/recovery? Has a recovery been attempted? Having all those eggs in one basket, and the mailbox getting...
