Pretty much everything, it appears. "Had to recover files" means what exactly? There is no scenario in which you would ever import Outlook data to "recover" it. Thanks for the taking time to read/reply to my post. They were able to fix the problem. This morning I recd a message that: Spent a few hours last night going over the issues with Outlook here and thanks to another post pointing me in the right direction, was able to resolve all of the issues. Solution to my problem: Recently I purchased a custom built laptop with windows 7 installed. I requested no other programs in the build. When my PC arrived it had a trial version of office installed so I uninstalled it and installed my office 2003 with outlook and could not get outlook to work. The problem was caused by files left behind when the office(trial version) was removed. The uninstall does not remove all the office 2007 files....

My Computer came with Windows 7 no operating system changed. I only activated the office 2007 for small business, which is working perfectly. You do have to enable authentication when you are no longer on their network
(like you are from home).
Remove all the messages from your Outbox, enable the authentication option,
restart Outlook and try sending again.
Also, do you have a virus scanner installed which integrates itself with
Outlook? Uninstall this integration part of your virus scanner and try

Thats the default behaviour for a pop account, unless you select the option
to 'Leave a copy on the server'

It all depends on which account type you are using. If you are using POP3,
move all the messages that you do not wish to download to a separate folder
on the server and then start Outlook.

Hard to say after you used all those Registry Tools which are all snake oil
remedies. It is possible and more likely that you removed something(s) from the
registry which you should not have.
Best advice that I give anybody that used any Registry Cleaning tool and then runs
into an issue be it with the OS or Office is to do a clean reformat of the OS and
then re-install Office after ...

You would need to Configure Windows Live Mail on your Win7 Pc
Copy the Outlook Express Identity from your winxp system to Documents folder
of the win7 PC
In WLM import that Identity.

test user without any Windows Roaming Profile settings configured to do a
