You can create styles based on "(no style)," but it is just as effective to avoid modifying Normal. It should be saved in your normal.dot or normal.dotm (depending on version of Word) template, unless the checkboxes about where to save it have been changed, and thereafter it will appear in all new documents based on that template. It's also possible to create new styles that aren't saved to a template but only in the document for which they are created. Cross-references don't update automatically. You have to update them explicitly with Ctrl+A, F9 or by switching to Print Preview or printing. In the edit hyperlink dialog, put the URI in both the Address and Text-to- display boxes. That way you can use a space or linebreak to wrap the display text to the next line without affecting the hyperlink ability.
