Where are you trying to save this file to? I've never seen this problem with Excel and
OneCare before.

Do you mean that it is a
wireless USB hub? Meaning that you connect wirelessly to the devices attached to that USB hub and that there is a receiver/transmitter on the PC to enable the communications, or is the Belkin device attached to your network wirelessly and acting as a Network Accessible Storage device (NAS) with one or more hard drives attached? What is the make and model of the Belkin ...

I have no idea what it is, either, but the .pf extension is a clue. http://filext.com/file-extension/PF I doubt that it is a prefetch file, but it could be something that was pulled down via the hyperlink that then wanted to have network access, perhaps this one:
Aladdin Systems Private Files Encrypted File In any event, I would ignore it if the .ppt file worked fine otherwise. -steve

If you turn off the OneCare firewall, does the problem go away? The OneCare firewall should not be blocking your
network access randomly - if the web browser is allowed, that means the firewall has allowed it, as it should. The problem is more likely due to a problem with the browser security settings. If the games are not accessed via the web browser and are installed to the computer, it could ...

Unlikely to be due to OneCare, but you can try turning off the OneCare firewall on the laptops to see if that resolves the problem. If it were the firewall, it would be blocking access to
any web site using the browser. This is more likely a browser setting issue. Try resetting the browser to default - in IE - Tools/Internet Options/Advanced/Defaults. -steve

Rundll is a generic process that is used by other programs. You would not want to block all instances of rundll32, so the question is what settings are you using for the firewall? Are you asking OneCare to notifiy you for
all access or are you only being prompted for unknown programs? If the latter, then there may be a problem that you should contact support for help with as OneCare should not ...

You should most certainly not have both firewalls enabled - the
Windows Firewall should have been disabled by OneCare. However, that wouldn't cause email from a specific sender to fail to arrive. It could cause *all* email to fail for you, but that isn't apparently happening to you. I suspect that there may be a problem between Earthlink and your email provider (since you mention safe list, I ...
