Hi Brian This is way beyond a moderators capability. The only people who can access user profiles are the STO Administrators. Hope this helps. Ronnie Vernon MVP Apparently, arrangements can be made. I suppose that posts marked as answer , or even complete threads can be deleted if you know how .

Points for Self-marking Answers
Published (2009-11-30 20:40:00)
There is a lot of 'sloppiness' in the system. I've never encountered a 'perfect' system. As a Moderator, I try to find a balance between respecting the OP's preferences to award credit, and keeping a searchable 'true' record of Questions and Answers. Let's face it. Some times the OP marks his/her own 'thank you for your help' response as 'Answer'. I think that is often due to...

Proposing own replies as answers ?

>Mark, what I've seen is VERY diligent monitoring by the MS forums team. The MS team that Clayton is talking about is no doubt the team for the SharePoint forums. They have a very good (Microsoft) team leader who makes sure that they do a very good job of forum moderation and do not - as it is rumoured that some teams do - concentrate on getting their own figures up. The team leader is also willing to respond to comments from...

I trust you are directing that to Ronnie, who intruded and trolled this thread with his off-topic subject. One which frankly seems at this present moment to be at least as compelling as your self-honor points. derosnec Just to be clear, I came here to read and simply responded to your post which included comments and a link to a thread that you wanted the subjec to include. But Chakkaradeep is right, we need to get back on topic...

Thank you, Arnie. This by itself should mollify some of the other posts in this forum. The wording on the "mark as answer" popup or whatever could be: Note, you will not get any points for marking your own post as answer, or for answering your own thread.

Chakkaradeep, I spend a ton of time on here like you as you can see by my 2200+ posts, but from my point of view, it is very presumptuous to propose your own reply as an answer, because you don't actually know if it's the answer. Sure, you may think it is, but it may not actually answer the OP's question. Sure, the OP has the right to mark it or not, but they will mark it whether you propose ...

Somehow the post got deleted by a mod if you aren't authorized to look at the thread. How can you see the thread? Unfortunatly, you can't see it anymore, you'll have to re-post.

My understanding was that if an OP marked his own reply as an answer that he got no points. one case My assumption was that if someone else marked the OP's answer as an answer the OP still gets no points. True a / b ? But what about the Top Ten list ? We have some new forums and thus people are appearing on the lists with only two answers to their name. In one case I have the feeling that ...
