No, a Repair Install will probably do nothing for you. I'm sorry and don't mean to hurt your feelings, but you made some bad choices and mistakes. There is no "Windows XP suite of programs". Windows XP is an operating system and doesn't come with any programs. There is no "Windows 2007". Perhaps you mean Office, which is a suite of programs that is not part of the Windows XP operating system....

Please clarify your question. You say "After installing the whole program from XP Professional Service Pak " and then you say this software does not allow the computer to install it". So I don't know what you have done. Also describe the XP installation media - is this a retail full version of Windows XP Pro with Service Pack 2? Or something else?

The Vista installation disc is a DVD. You apparently don't have a DVD drive. You would need to purchase/install a DVD-ROM or DVD-RW in order to install Vista. Are you sure your computer hardware supports Vista before you do this? http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-vista/get /system-requirements.aspx Although the system requirements state a minimum of 1GB, in the Real World Vista ...

Hi, Is your computer CPU made by AMD and can you give the full blue screen error code (ie. STOP: 0x0000007E (0xC0000005, 0xFC5CCAF3, 0xFC90F8C0, 0xFC90F5C0) SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED ) Slan go foill, Paul

Contact the computer mftr. for replacement media. Legally they must give you a way to reinstall Windows. XP MCE was only available as an OEM product (" Original Equipment Manufacturer") and aside from having a TechNet/MSDN subscription, I know of nowhere you can legitimately download it.

Contact the laptop mftr. and purchase recovery discs so you can restore the computer to factory condition. This will be quite inexpensive, around $20-25.
