Thanks for your response. I am going to look at the links and try disabling some of these programs. Hey Cards fan, Like Divya said, you can disable the last 4 safely. Do not touch the Intel entries as they relate to motherboard functionality However, if you disable: IDT PC Audio = you will lose audio Synaptics Pointing Driver = you will lose touchpad QuickSet = you will lose Dell power management Java Platform SE 6 U15 = you will lose some...

In round numbers Windows 7 or any 32-bit OS (Windows XP, Vista 32-bit) can only address 4GB. Your video card has XXXMB of ram on the card so that limits XP to 4GB minus the cards XXXMB of memory. In addition other hardware also takes away additional amounts of memory (usually a small when compared to the video card) and the remaining memory (address space) is available for Windows XP and...

I also wanted to add, that when I restart, it seems to go back to normal.  I waited for the Core to get stuck, and ran a 3D render that should take all 8 cores, but it still wouldn't allocate it to other tasks.

You can use any email program you like. Thunderbird  http://www.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/thunderbird/ all.html  and Windows Live Mail are the most common. Thunderbird would be a much smaller download than any Windows Live offering.

I've scheduled Windows Backup and Restore (data file type not system image type) to run daily backups of my hard drive. The problem is that every scheduled run seems to be doing full backups instead of just incremental backups of the changed files. This is evidenced not only by the size of data for each backup but I've even taken the time time to monitor the backups and can see in the progress ...

Can't I just combine both hard drives now? I don't remember any time during the install that I could choose to go in and combine partitions. It just asked if you wanted Windows 7 loaded in either the C drive or D drive. So I picked the C drive however the D drive is the one that everything is getting loaded too when I want to download something. So it says the D drive is almost full.
