You cannot restore a Windows Vista Complete PC Backup in Windows 7. Use the appropriate utility to backup your personal files and settings: Windows Easy Transfer. Of course, you will have to reinstall your applications. Using the Windows 7 disk, install the Windows 7 Windows Easy Transfer Utility from the DVD (To find it, just navigate to x:\support\migwiz, 'x:' represents the name of your disk drive. In this folder, you will see a...

Hi RADodwell, Thanks for posting. This Stop error message usually occurs during installation when there was an attempt in kernel mode to touch pageable memory at too high a process internal request level (IRQL). Typically, this error occurs when a driver uses an incorrect memory address. If the roll back has been successful and you are currently in Windows Vista please do the following to test your memory. 1. Click Start 2. In the search area...

No it is Vista 64 bit. If only it was that easy. Like I said it is last years model. I even offered to pay the difference for the new one that just came out. They can't do that I'm told. My machine now is a 32 bit but Windows 7 is shipped with both 32 and 64 bit discs You should just be able to install your Windows 7. Unless it's OEM, when you can't.

Check on the program manufacturers' sites for their uninstallation and clean-up routines. I hope by "deleting" you mean you have uninstalled the programs, not just deleted the executable files and their directories.

I hope that doesn't happen to me... I cannot afford to buy the full version of Nero, and beside I don't need to use it anymore... I am upgrading to windows 7, however, on the last stages of the installation process, I keep receiving notices of incompatibility with programs I must delete (and have deleted some), but with other programs like Acrobat 5 and Nero Image Drive, I don't see them or ...

You were misinformed. The licence is for one copy on one machine only. There is a family pack of 3 licences for Home Premium available in some regions. Marked As Answer by Carey Frisch MVP , Moderator 50 minutes ago

The only way to resolve this is to upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate or use LIP ( Language Interface Pack).

As was the case in Vista, Windows 7 will continue to enable the widest range of people across the world to use Windows 7 in their own language using Language Interface Packs. LIPs are built on the MUI technology and provide localization of the UI most ...

Your license will work with the 32bit or 64bit version of Windows 7. If you're not a TechNet member the only way to download Windows 7 it to pay for it.

I'm fairly certain that the Win7 installer checks the current hard drive for the qualifying OS, I don't think it checks other hard drives on the system. Out of curiosity, why did you install Win7 on a different hard drive?

To move a Windows 7 Upgrade to a new computer that new computer must have Windows XP/Vista installed on it. You can not move the XP/Vista OEM install to the new computer which allows upgrading to Windows 7, therefor you can't move Windows 7 Upgrade to that computer. To use Windows 7 on your new computer you would need to either buy and install XP/Vista on the computer first, or buy the Full ...
