Hi Mr Zevon,   Welcome to Microsoft Windows Vista Community site. Hello I live in the uk and currently have a sony vaio media pc which i watch TV through via Media Center in Vista. My partner is polish and i would like to be able to show uk subtitles for her. I am thinking of upgrading to Windows 7 as i have read that you can view UK subtitles (for freeview channels, i am not interested in sky) via it's version of media center but i can not get this confirmed anywhere. WOuld like to make 100% sure...

There exists an add on for 7 that uses 'virtualization' to run an old app seamlessly within 7. I don't know if they ever really plan to create a "Vista Mode" for this, but I know an "XP Mode" exists, and that Media Center does indeed have a version that runs on it.
