Hi, Check Control Panel - Mouse and Keyboard to see if anything is set to Volume Control such as a middel wheel, side button, or a key or "Stuck". Does it do it in all programs? If not check those that do to see if they have programmable "hotkey" or "mouse" activated volume controls. I am trying to rip audio tracks from a DVD to my hard drive. WMP is not allowing this. Is it possible to do this? I am using Vista, comp purchased within this past year, unknown what version WMP I am using. Any ideas? Hi, Start - type in Search box ->  Windows Media Player   find it at top of list - Right Click on - COPY Go to a blank area or the Desktop - Right Click - Paste Shortcut. You can also paste a Shortcut onto the Start Menu and Quick Launch Bar if desired. Hope this helps.

Hi, Right Click Speaker near clock - Playback Devices - right click in the box area - check Show disabled and disconnected devices. Highlight speaker and on the lower Right click Properties check settings for Device Usage enabled and so on. Also do same for Configure on Lower Left of that box. Hope this helps.

I've used my HDMI connection regularly for 3 weeks. Today when I plugged the cable in to watch the web on my TV, explorer.exe froze up. I ended up restarting the computer. When the OS came back online, the video for the HDMI came in correctly, but the Audio doesn't show up even show up as an option for a playback device. This is very frustrating. 1 person needs an answer I do too
