MALCOLM Turnbull is fighting to secure a deal in the partyroom after it was revealed government negotiations on an emissions trading scheme were based on no outcome at Copenhagen. I don't get this??? We know the deals are basically off at Copenhagen but Flannery hinted the Usa and China had done a sort of deal..... Does what you say above mean, that it can be changed later......what does it mean??? #333333

Opposition Leader Malcolm Turnbull's epic struggle with the Liberal and National parties over emissions trading will continue into the night. Despite more than seven hours of talks, the Coalition has failed to reach a decision on whether to accept the Government's revised emissions trading scheme. Coalition MPs are deciding whether to back their leader or not, and ABC chief political correspondent Mark Simkin says it looks...

Last year the world's second-largest economy granted refugee status to just 57 people - a tiny number compared to most other wealthy countries. But it is still an almost four-fold increase on 10 years ago. Another 360 people were given special residence permits on humanitarian grounds, but with fewer rights and benefits than fully recognised refugees.

He deserved to win the leadership spill, and he is the only candidate capable of leading the Liberal Party to victory in any foreseeable election! ------------------------- ------------------------- - How do you figure that? Why vote for Turnbull when all he ever does is roll over whenever Rudd wants him too, Sorry but the Libs are gone for all money with Turnbull at the helm

Rudd forced Turnbull to except ETS or go to the polls. Turnbull was beaten by Rudd a weak man himslef who has only just been beaten by a boat load of illegal immigrants. With this sort of leadership I think australia is doomed for the future generation, we might as well just have a big party over the next few years and go down with the band playing.

Aren't they already out? But if you mean more Libs should lose their seats, fair enough, but don't for one minute think The Greens will take up the slack. Instead you'll probably have Labor with a huge majority in both houses, making your beloved party irrelevant, The Greens NEED a closely fought election, otherwise they'll go the way of the way of the Dems.
