Car and Driver's 10Best for...

I just got the magazine today, in my opinion it makes sense that the Honda, BMW, Cadillac and Fusion are all on there, I've heard nothing but good about them for quite a while. I was a little surprised to see the Volkswagen GTI on there however, because in my opinion, Volkswagens are simply mediocre cars. I think that I may also have added the new Taurus, Buick Lacrosse, Audi A8, Camaro and Lincoln MKZ

How do you define automotive value?
Published (2009-12-01 13:51:00)
The definition of an automobile's “value” is different for every person. Some look at price, some features, some styling, others all of the above and more. Please tell us how you determine the value of a vehicle. Read Best Values for 2009 .

Thanks Buick1 for giving me some insight. I was thinking the same thing and have only had vague comments that I remember over the years that these trucks last for a long time. Again, thanks!

Has anyone heard of MSN Autos acting as an escrow provider? I tried to buy a car advertised on Auto Trader and received an invoice from someone claiming to be MSN Auto using the logo. ? Comments?

Have no say for entire list, but owning Honda Accord myself (V6 sedan model) I am pleased to see it in the top 10. The car is reliable, comfortable, large enough for a family with very large room in back seat and relatively fuel efficient. The only my complain thus far is road noise.

If you are in the market for a new car or truck I encourage you to do a little research on the country that the company originates from, like Japan! It's not only bad for our economy but bad for our country and the men and women who serve in our armed forces. ? http://www.socrata.com/dataset/Troops-In-Afghanistan-By-Country/qspj-xerw ? ?

I would avoid Hyundai or Volkswagen. I work at a mechanic, and I cannot tell you how many of those cars come in with severe problems that are only a few years old with low miles. If you're looking for a small car, go for: Ford Focus, Mazda 3, Pontiac G6, Chevy Cobalt, to name a few. Also, you might want to look at a Suzuki Grand Vitara, the Tracker was based on the Grand Vitara.

Living here in Colorado I feel that AWD or 4X4 is essential. Sometimes I am called into work regardless of the weather conditions and my old Jeep Cherokee with 251,000 miles always gets me there. So, yes, to me its worth the extra price.

I believe Dodge has the best diesel with the comings but the rest of the truck falls short in quality.  Chevy has the Alison transmission that is great, but the engine has had some issues.  That leaves Ford.  If you are buying used avoid the 6.0.   It has many flaws, and there is now even a class action law suet filed against it.  Unfortunately the 7.3 is gone and due to epa has little to no ...

For diesel to be an alternative it has to be offered as one.  If they build it, people will buy.  But our current offerings from Ford Chevy and Dodge don't offer much in the way of small diesel cars.  Who's fault is that.  Perhaps the current government has given them too much money to throw at alternative power and a simple answer has gone largely ignored for that reason.
