Djokovic once proved again that he was faking the injury in the first set to race to a 2-1 lead in sets. Then he choked again giving up a break in the fourth, faking a injury again and end up winning the fifth. Terrible effort from Robredo in fifth. Not a good match at all.

I went to qualies on Thursday but the matches were hugely uninteresting so I won't bother with a report I'm not gonna be able to upload pics until I get back next week (apologies for the misleading title) but I assure you there will be lots. Practice day was interesting today, not that easy to tell who's playing well but it's interesting to see players interacting with fans....

Semi Final of the top half, and Murray has never beaten Nadal before. Who wins here though? I think I'm going with Rafa in 4.

After attending the U.S. Open for the eighth year in a row this week...I have come to the conclusion. I will never attend again. First, my streak of me watching a Rafa match and him losing is over. But here are the reasons why I will never attend again: 1. The U.S. Open has transformed into the modern NBA. Loud, obnoxious music played during timeouts...having to watch aristocratic, ...

In total, eight active players have made all four grand slam QFs, four all SFs and only Federer has made all finals. Of course no active player has achieved a career grand slam. Here's a compilation of players who've made a round at every slam and the time and place they completed it. Winners none Finals Federer (RG 2006) Semi-finals Nalbandian (AO 2006) Djokovic (AO ...

Not his best play, obviously but for coming back from two sets down. I could've done with less moaning but Andy without his bitching wouldn't be Andy I guess.

What a fantastic FH Fedmug has! Best FH ever! Andreev could have taken a 2-0 lead in sets but he blew 7 BPs in the 2nd set. He also had a lot of BPs in the 5th with Fedmug serving at 4-2. BTW, Igor's FH was amazing! Some stats: Fedmug Andreev Winners: 67 54 UEs: 60 42 BP conversion: 3/7 2/15

I thought he blew it firstly when Ferrer took the third and fourth sets easily and then again when he got broken serving for the match at 5-3 in the fifth, having MP, but blowing it on a FH swing volley put-away set up by a big serve that hit the netcord and allowed Ferrer the time to pass. He surprised me with having the composure to hold for 6-5 and then break. Good luck to him ...

Congratulations with your 30th consecutive US Open win Rogelio Even many predicted Steps to take down the Fedmeister, Fedex proven that he's back on track with a rocksolid performance, even his backhand was okay/good today! Some stats; Federer; 17 winners (WTF US Open, many more?) only 9 UE's 80% first serve's was essential.

1st set: Brilliant. Djokovic served near 90% and was never broken. Cilic never gave Djokovic a look and he, too, remained unbroken. But all good things must come to an end... 2nd set: Awful See-saw match. Breaking each other, momentum shifts back and forth, too many double faults, unable to serve for the set, etc. 3rd set: A more stable Djokovic. 4th set: Djokovic had ...

Solid performance. He twisted his ankle in the 5th game (IIRC) of the 3rd set and had to take a medical timeout. He seemed to collect himself and prevailed easily.
