GFS MOS Changes
Published (2009-12-18 15:21:00)
Dear MOS users, Our group has recently completed the development of new equations for the GFS MOS station-based system. A Technical Information Notice went out a few weeks ago, but I wanted to provide just a bit more information regarding the upcoming changes on January 26, and make sure this information finds you. The link to the TIN is http://www.weather.gov/mdl/synop/tin...-39gfs_mos.txt We've updated the GFS MOS description page with...

Why do major weather events always happen on the overnight? Hurricanes and tropical storms almost always make landfall at 2 am. Why is this? And why does it rain more often on weekends than on weekdays?

These new runs are depending heavily now on a fully formed and slow moving deformation zone, ergo negative tilt. Are they giving too much weight to that energy diving down through OK/MO? Again, I'm not mongering no snow for me. Just trying to justify winter storm watch/warning criteria.

How many lines of coke do you snort before your segments??? Also, your suit jacket's too big. I'm glad, though, that your mom lets you stay up past 9pm to do your forecasts, especially on school nights! "That's right, man!" -- Don't ever say that again on-air. Your male news anchor sucks.

Honestly, Haily, I appreciate that you have concerns about these issues. As a single person, you've got the world by the horns. Once you're married, there will be some considerations, but nothing that can't be worked out between your hubby and you. However, when it comes to family, you must throw logic damn near out the window. There will be SO many demands of you once you've become part of a...
