its nice that you have the time, the second car, the money, etc to spend 4 months pulling your engine, but i do not, and i'm sure a lot of other people don't either. if something goes wrong with my MSP, i'm walking everywhere and calling friends for rides. im an engineer so i largely agree with you, but some people just honestly dont care, and that's their choice. theres no point in making sour grapes because people just...

Awesome, I'll give them a shout. If all else fails, my gf's brother is a mechanic at the mazda dealership in her hometown; so I could get him to do it.

The intake side of the GT28RS is 3" whereas the stock is 2.5" so you would need a reducer. For hard pipes, they should fit fine as long as the turbo is clocked (if necessary) and in the same position as the stock one.

Aside from just not being a huge fan of the turkey, it's also bad for your turbo. You should definitely try to fix it as soon as you get a chance. Did the sound change after the installing the FMIC or what? I'm guessing that the turkey is a result of either a poor vacuum source, or the BOV spring is set too hard (if adjustable). I'm gonna go ahead and assume it's a poor vacuum source before...

300 HP is going to need forged internal, welded LSD, full 3" exhaust, or open dp, GT28RS at about 14-16 psi or larger GT3071R, 440cc injectors might cut it and you can tune them with a split second. but I would go the safer route a toss in the Deatschwerks 600cc ones. I think the wrx sti 565cc will drop in as well. Either way anything over 440cc you need more then a split second. I thing the ...

Clutch slipping under added torque then regaining grip as it stops. I bet you've been keeping your foot on the clutch a little and causing it to separate just a touch, which is only noticeable when you floor it. Happened to me a few times, thought my clutch was out but it was just me unknowingly pressing down on the clutch a little bit.

to make your bottom end strong you would need forged pistons and rods, new rod and main bearings, and it would be very nice but you dont have to get arp main and head studs, and for me i like to change oil pump and all that good stuff since i got the motor out. and I built few MSPs and never got a new crank always just took it to a machine shop and never had a problem with a crank

GI: 3" Downpipes I have done some searching and there is nothing to speak of as far as downpipes for our cars. I know there is the corksport and have heard good things, but it isn't 3" and has an extraordinarily large number of welds / bends. I want to know how many people would be interested in a straight as possible' 3" downpipe that would...
