I'll have to try them on before I try to change it. But there are no good looking solid black mesh wheels for the price.

Might be a little late to the party, but I figured since I have experience with the tire in question in the OP, I'd throw in. I just recently had a set of Eagle GT 215/45/17's mounted on my wifes' Cooper S. I'd have loved to have gone with a dedicated summer tire, but we were in a pinch because I blew up a tire doing a burnout in the walmart parking lot, and she needed to get to work. It was fun though. That being said.......

MS3 Owners: Show us your wheels!...

I wouldn't add any spacers to the BBS, they are already a 40+ offset and sit nice and flush against the fenders. I was considering getting some for these Racing Harts.. but I'm not sure if I should even bother since they are winter wheels. As for the calipers.. I'm not sure what I plan on doing for them. Either black or gunmetal. I've never been a huge fan of decals on them, so I don't think I'd do that....

215/45R18 XL - Is XL ok?

High load rating just means the sidewalls are stronger & the tire is rated to carry more weight. No danger in going with a higher load rating, aside from possibly some increased ride harshness. The danger is in going lower than OEM load rating, which can cause tire failure after extended use, since they'd technically be overloaded. You should be fine. Especially if they're Winter Tires- who cares if they're a harsh ride?

Sounds to me like a 17" Performance Winter tire would be perfect for you. I ran 215/50R17 Dunlop Wintersport M3 tires on 17"x7" alloy wheels as my winter setup before I moved from Chicago to FL and I was very pleased with the combination of sportiness and snow/ice traction I got out of it.

What I forgot to mention is, in light of everything that was going on, I decided to uninstall the springs lol. My intentions with the lowering springs were to eliminate the highway bounce and gain some improvements out of the suspension overall. What ended up happening is, it actually made the bouncing more obvious because you're lower to the ground now, so the bounces are still there, only it's louder and harder. So, when we...

In all honesty its looks like it was more the paint shops fault. The metal doesn't even look clean where it chipped.

Update
lateral grip is slightly better than the stock potenzas. The
Hankooks are very forgiving and easy to drive at the limit.
They start to slide a little, but stay very stable and progressive.
The Potenzas would tend to squeal and start skipping. The Hankooks
just start scrubbing. I can get on the power a whole lot earlier now.
These tires forward bite is way better than the ...

16" vs. 17" Wheels for the Winter
After two Kansas winters on the stock tires and wheels I'm convinced to go with a dedicated winter setup. My question is should I downsize to 16" or 17" wheels? How does that choice determine which tires to buy?
It only snows 3-4 times each winter, and never very deep, 4-6 inches max. We get ...

Whats up everyone. Im in the market for some aftermarket springs. I would love a coilover suspension, but do not have the funds. Im looking for some input on a couple questions:
1) What spring setup your using?
2) How much of a drop it made?
3) How it rides?
4) Any issues come up after installing?
Im looking for a setup that will drop it enough to fill in the ...

Winter/track wheels
I was thinking about getting 17x7.5 wheels. I would put 215-50 Michelin X-ice tires on for the winter and 245-40 extra stickies for track days. I would keep the 18's for daily driving. Informed input would be appreciated.
