Cpl Keith Rose of the Franklin, VA police was taken by airflight to a hospital today after he accidentally shot himself in the leg. Investigators say he was off duty trying on clothes in a store when a gun in his pocket went off, sending a bullet into his leg. Police say Rose also serves as pastor of an area Baptist Church. He was conscious and I'll bet very embarrassed as he was taken by crews to the awaiting helicopter.

Is it just my imagination, or is this getting to be more and more frequent?

Check out the comments over there...just like the ones posted at the Globe or Herald. Apparently he did the right thing and shot himself. Now perhaps his abused daughter, who allowed him to 'care' for her children, would do so as well. I know what you're thinking, she being a victim and all. Victimizing children to deal with one's own victimization is a non-starter. She knew what happened to her was wrong, yet put her kids...

I like it when PD's do that. Yarmouth and Harwich PD's post their weekly arrests with mugs on Cape Cod Today. I wish more PD's did the same. Breaking and entering arrest in Falmouth; Yarmouth Police weekly arrests include felony assault, destruction of property, OUI & warrants
