This is second or third hand account so it could be wrong. Yet I heard that Bruce did learn a little Tai Chi from an uncle? Later his remarks about the existence of chi and the flowing movements of Tai Chi were not favorable. Will look around for some kind of confirmation of that.

During any number of posts I've said favorable things about Paul Vunak and his various efforts including Street Safe and RAT. Although I have'nt enjoyed the opprotunity for training with Paul Vunak outside just a couple of seminars most of what he teaches looks credible. Although I rarely purchase books and dvds about martial arts there are some PFS video tapes around here somewhere and my...

I know that JKD Concepts has Phase ranks. I know Full Instructor is the "highest rank" you can be with JKD Concepts How in order, are the instructor ranks set up?

as far as im concerned anyone who does not train with this kick is missing out, if you train it, you can develop speed as quick as a frontkick, focus on your standing foot!

Last night I had my first ever lesson in JKD Concepts. And must I say it was amazing, and I can't wait to learn more. In the session (it was a hour long private lesson) we went over some trapping (mainly pok sau), some takedowns, and submissions. We also went over stick/knife work which really interested me. What are you're thoughts on Erik Paulson's Combat Submission Wrestling? I'm interested in the thoughts of martial artists from the "Original" and "Concepts" branches. I think CSW is an awesome expression of what JKD can be. Total grappling, and striking. Though I believe there is little trapping or weapons work.
