Had a look at your other post and at the website of CKEAI's and it does look like a pretty good organisation. Nice to see people coming together and working to promote instead of knocking and building their own little empires! The no fee's policy is a brilliant idea, nobody can knock it as a money making scheme. I do hope that it continues to grow from strenght to strenght!

From what I've heard on other forums there's at least two Europeans in the running for a spot on the show.

Hello All, I live in the USA, just south of Pittsburgh PA. I've practiced Modern Arnis for three years and switched to Kali and have been doing that for the last 2. So I've been at this for about 5 years now. (also been doing BJJ/MMA for about 4 years). I know my stuff, have gone to tournaments and done well, but don't have an official affiliation. Can someone offer some ...

As many of the Mappers will know and for those of you who dont, the Philippine Council of Kali Eskrima Arnis Masters was set up in 2005 headed up by GM Roland Dantes, I myself was made a member of the PCKEAM in 2005 and in 2006 along with PG Peter Lewis helped to set up the British Council of Kali Eskrima Arnis Instructors. I am posting this to see what if any interest there would be in an opportunity to train in Atienza Kali in the London area. Aran Keenan, joint head of Atienza Kali Europe and Associate Level 1 Instructor will be in London approximately once a month for quite some time. There may be an opportunity to begin a training group depending on interest.

A while back i made a topic about doing a MA with glasses on, i tried boxing and it went horrible. I'm also 20, and i really felt like was lagging behind due to my age. What i like about Escrima is that they teach you what you need to learn first and than work from there. But is Escrima suitable for someone with glasses and no past of martial arts? (if you don't soccer that is haha)

I know I risk being slated for this thread..........but never mind. I AM interested in Kali/Eskrima and always fancied having a go, the hand/weapon/eye coordination looks amazing. But what I am wondering as don't know much about the system, are these systems as functional for use in a street situation in a similar way that Krav Maga or some other art taught in a military fashion. ...
