All very well and good with the cross training suggestions guys but I was really looking for ways to practice capoeira solo, not take up another art - I already have my black belt in tkd and am continuing with that, I just don't want to neglect capoeira! Dormindo - that's the same school I found and got
no reply from. I've emailed, called, and even sent a message to the facebook group - all to ...

Tumbling, Floreio and my own inspiration were blended to create this piece. Enjoy

It's nice that you've been observant PASmith . Give yourself time, and keep an open mind. One day, things will just ' click '.

Hi guys, was thinking of trying capoeira after seeing some videos on youtube. My question is, and sorry if it's been asked before, how long does it take to become that good? Training once or twice a week that is. I mean good enough to take part in (
a roda?) and not look like a drunken mess?! You guys make it look so easy, I think I'm hooked already, just don't think I ...

Ok, so here's the deal. I'm in the US Navy in Japan right now. I have an injured right knee (Patella Femoral Pain Syndrome-where the muscles in the knee are not strong enough to hold the knee properly so the knee cap grinds cartlidge). I have been always interested in some kind of
martial art, that's a given, and it's always fascinated me to see someone else perform. As for my body size, i'm not...

This is a long shot, but I'm wondering if anyone knows of any Capoera classes in Guelph/Kitchener/Waterloo/Cambridge or general area in Southern Ontario. I'm looking for something to train in to really liven my body up and gain some acrobatic skills that I can combine with the other stuff I do (
Internal Kung Fu and BJJ). Any suggestions?

I practice Capoeira, not for the expressive or dance like side, but for the more martial aspects. Meaning, I won't ever be seen doing an Au Giratorio (handspin) or anything of the like. I've been looking past the dancing aspect and have found a pretty solid martial art. However, I find that Capoeira's place in martial arts isn't as a main style to fight with, but a supplement. The unique ...

So I created this thread as a
repository for people playing Capoeira with a little contact. I've got one video here that shows some good play with some good contact. Really enjoyed it. I'll post more as I find them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMX9KKzG4-0
