Good point CKava... but given the fact that the Jake falls in love (at least that's what it looks like in the trailer) with a native girl, if she was too weird looking it might be hard for the audience to empathize with Jake. I'm not saying that's good or anything, but that's how people are.

Yeah it wasn't as bad as I imagined but the issue for me is that it kind of shows a distinct lack of imagination aliens that we are supposed to empathise with almost always ultimately end up basically being humans with different coloured skin. Yeah, I'm definitely going to see this. Even my mum thinks it looks cool, and she isn't a big movie person! btw, I think the extended trailer shows the coolness a lot more than the regular one:

Last movie I watched was Monsters vs Aliens, pretty good but your standard CGI kids movie though I did laugh out loud at a few bits. Before that was District 9, which was fantastic. I watched Mulholland Drive again recently for about the 5th time and I think I might even unsderstand it now.
Next up are Up and Away We Go, probably followed by 500 Days of Summer if my GF gets her way.

If you're a fan of animation (and I am) then 'Steamboy', but if you're a fan of exciting movies then not 'Steamboy'. Oh man, is it dull!
'Death Note' is seriously good, especially if you're a fan of the manga and the live action (though not the third movie, it sucked badly).
'The Girl who Leapt Through Time' is kinda sweet and is of interest if you're a fan of time travel.

i just googled him, and it's going to cause SUCH a <beep>storm when they paint him white to play kratos
nevermind that they get a man of apparent african descent to play a greek (he does look like him though).
i say though, that the guy that looks most like kratos is the one who plays the monk in the gamers 2: dorkness rising....
