Career - Where to go from here?...

True but i know I wouldn't want to realise at 24 or something it isn't going to work then have to find the funds and do the education at that age and possibly with family by then to support as well. It's a tough career path yeah but you should have a back up whatever you're doing otherwise I wouldn't be in college now I'd be in the army already.

Going back into education isnt going to cost that much in college only if your a mature student and uni fee's cost anyway. So with college then why are you there if your going into the army? They give you all the training you need there. Surely you should know by now if you could get in or not and set your goals from there. You may as well put 110% into everything now while you still can there are plenty of things I regret in life...

Thanks for the feedback guys! My plan for now is: * Continue with BJJ * Run through the basic 6 months course in boxing * Then start kickboxing or muay thai * If I go to university here in Norway, I can probably train 5-6 times a week, so I will look at the possibilities there * Since I soon will get my blue belt, I will start training MMA in our club * On Sundays it is free training, so instead of taking the gi on, I'll grapple without I...

Partly because it's the crossroads of so many martial cultures, but mostly because I've been there a few times and absolutely love it. Anyway, it was already big in Japan (though not like it used to be) and in Korea. More Thai fighters have begun to populate the lower weight classes, too. Though I suppose...

just a thought, but Boxing shorts wouldn't be too bad of an idea, my boxing team at the university really struggle to get good boxing shorts, usually the options are either cheapy rubbish ones, overly shiny sequined londsdale ones or those awful everlast ones in the rocky colours (that bad!). Theres a market for good boxing shorts, worth a thought.

Cool, if you want women's stuff testing let me know. My first suggestion would be to make the bodies of rash guards long enough that they don't ride up and don't make women's shorts 'hipster' type - they are completely impractical for a style where you have to bend over a lot - I don't want every person I train with seeing my underwear! Oh, and don't make them only in pink (black suits me fine by the way )!

How would you score submissions?
Published (2009-12-26 03:32:00)
If strikes weren't involved, I'd agree that the guard is neutral. However, once you can rain down punches, with gravity on your side, and your opponent is pinned to the ground, you've got an advantage. While the bottom guy can throw strikes as well, I can't remember when they've ended the fight in the modern era, not withstanding the odd up-kick to a standing or diving opponent. And if submission skills are anywhere...

I'm sorry I didn't see this before.
Honestly, I view subs as all or nothing. Strikes cause damage that is cumulative, takedowns determine where the fight takes place, but if a sub doesn't end the fight, or at least lead to a change in position (ex: kimura to guard sweep), I can't really consider it anything other than a failure. Though, under the current system, the guy who attempted more ...

Personally I always watch the fights on youtube after the showtime cuz the
