Neck Injury Avoidance?

as soon as the neck crank starts to go on, tap get the boys to practice slow neck cranks in teaching drills , best to remove these from live sparring.

now before you go off thinking this is yet another style vs style debate, thats not what im getting at. I want to know whats the main difference between gracie style juijutsu and 10th planet. I heard something on the internet about the gracies not caring for 10th planet or something like that but i have no idea if theres any truth to that. My MMA gym does standard BJJ so my techniques are more basic. so i dont really have any exposure to 10th...

It's just a different way to do it. Eddie's half-guard, butterfly guard, and rubber guard form an intricate system that allows you to be offensive at the same time as being defensive. He's the first to tell you though, nothing works 100% of the time, his stuff just gives you more options to utilize.

Eddie talks about big ass in his instructionals. That keeps you awake to really focus.

Bravo's stuff is interesting but I'm always put off by the hyperbole and Joe Rogan being such a staunch fan. I'm sure it suits some folks better but I don't think it's as revolutionary as it is sometimes claimed. Also, I can't say I really find calling positions things like 'crack head control' or 'Jiu Claw' to be particularly appealing.

Heres a 10th Planet JJ guy doing a move, where he got DQ'd because they didnt know what it was YouTube- 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu: Electric Chair... Explanation of the move: YouTube- 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu: The Electric... Funnily enough, I pulled off this move 2 weeks ago. I'm not very good with submissions, so I just grab stuff and hope it hurts....didnt know it existed.

You may want to start by selecting partners who are not out for the kill every time they roll. It may be easier said than done, but rolling with a more advanced student who has better control over his actions and is also willing to teach at the same time is ultimately the best way to avoid injury and an all around better experience for you. The exercises that you are doing will help to strengthen...

Not used it. Just rolled with regular box and supporter. Skad cheaper by the way. I don't get what all the padding is for on those shorts. Since when did you need to pad your IT band or thigh for BJJ?! Weird. Someone enlighten please.
