I'm pretty sure it's legal. Usually benefits should be worked out before starting the job, ro and if you applied through a temp agency imo it's pretty crappy of them not to have warned you.

Linda Hill has several books for new managers that have received good reviews & you can read r/o the reviews as well as buy her books on Amazon. Also you might want to consider approaching a manager or supervisor (they do not have to be in your dept.) that you trust and admire for advice on managing people as well as offering guidance in the future when needed . Having a mentor at work can be really invaluable and great way to get...

I do this too- my application package is 1) cover letter, 2) resume, 3) reference page I put everything on the reference page that would enable them to do a background check i.e. address/phone number, immediate supervisor. I submit the reference page if it asks for it up front with my resume and cover letter

we have Comcast--they SUK, too...r/o sometimes service is slow. it's also EXPENSIVE. call back Verizon and raise som HELL--tell them you're VERY unhappy with the delay in service and are VERY close to signing on with Comcast AND writing some letters to the corporate office AND the local paper about how unacceptable this is. if the service rep can't help you, get a supervisor on the phone.

not if your working relationship was good and you left things on a positive note. rop though it is always best to get a reference before you leave the job. as a former supervisor, it might be difficult to remember specifics about a worker's experience and particular assets, so re-introduce yourself if you have been out of touch and point out things you did when you worked there that would have set you apart as exemplary.

go to etsy or an antique store, find a set of 4 little china plates in a pretty r/o pattern (etsy has these often for so cheap!)....wash, tie with a ribbon and give with a bag of baked treats or a scone mix, etc. That's good for a "domestic" diva...someone who loves pretty home things. Find a cool retro container (a teacup, a cool tin, japanese bowl, etc) and plant a succulent in it.......

You may want to read books about financial planning, such as Suze Ormon. If you ask the Cafe, they will have even more suggestions for books to read that can help you cut down your spending. I can't remember any of them right now. I would recommend making lists of what to buy for Xmas gifts and also limiting the amount. You will be receiving gifts so that could be one thought in mind when ...

Stop worrying about what other people think. Sorry, but it's the only advice I can give you. You had solid reasons for choosing your school. Why do you feel that you need to justify your choice? There are snobby people everywhere. You and your sister both did very well. Be happy for each other and ignore dumb snobby people.

Were you told that you were going to be promoted? If so I would document this as well as r/o give examples of how she treated you badly, how many times you asked her for help or to train you in order to complete x projects or tasks, her response to your requests and the reason why it would be benefical for your dept. and the company for you to remain where you are. Be very specific about what...

I think you know what you need to do....you need to follow your heart r/o/p and do what makes you happy. It is best to do that now than to complete the program, work in the field, then years later try to make a switch (knowing that all along, it wasn't the field you wanted to be in). I see fashion and architecture being closely related in that they are both creative fields, they just have ...

r/o Get everyone together for a meeting with your boss to discuss this. That's really crazy. I've never had a job where I didn't get a lunch break. You need to more than "mention" it. Even at our busiest time, I would cover for my coworker while she ate her lunch in the back of our office. No break would make me livid and is completely wrong.

it's a normal work day at my office, but practically everyone takes off++ we get one "floating holiday" a year (in addition to the usual Thanksgiving day, New Years Day, 4th of July, etc and our regular vacation time) I always use my floating holiday for the day after Thanksgiving
