Hi Xray, you need to post your operating system I'll assume its Vista as its a year old, also what security do you have ,firewall, anitvirus, spyware ect. right first I always suspect and check over heating because its easy to eliminate so make sure the fans are blown clear of dust, check your battery is charging and your laptop will run without the power adapter, check you have a surge protector. To check if its over heating install this...

Why are Keyboards Lopsided?

I've seen several threads where people want to disable the touchpad because their thumbs accidentally brush it when typing. I'm just guessing that manufacturer's have attempted to find a place that works for the most number of people no matter how they rest their hands when typing. I see no other reason to reposition the touchpad from center which would be most visually pleasing.

Can you go into Device Manager and find out the details of the card reader? (ie Manufacturer and part number) It's probably not manufactured by HP, so the drivers may be available elsewhere.

Intermittent problems are the hardest to troubleshoot - especially when it may be a month between events. But still, when troubleshooting display problems, it is necessary to determine if the problem is with the monitor, or with the computer/graphics solution, and the best way to do that is to swap monitors with another computer. If the problem follows your monitor to computer #2, you know the problem is with your monitor. If the problem also...

You may want to look into a 275. It's cheaper and can play games very well if you want to save some cash However 295 is the best of the nvidia cards right now. As for case a good mid tower or full ATX case would be good for you. Rest of setup seems good.

Welcome, did this start suddenly or did it creep up to this stage? First thing I would check is heat using a monitor like G15 SpeedFan to check your temperatures. If they get hot quickly then open up the case and blow the dust out. Are the fans running as far as you can tell? One other thing is was this built by you or done elsewhere, like off the shelf?

Right click on "my computer" and choose manage. Then click on "Drive Options" in the window that opens up there. Then look through the list of drives in the lower right portion of the screen and post a screenshot of the results for the external drive.

As I stated in a previous post, I have not yet come across a laptop graphics card that can be upgraded. However, I am prepared to be found wrong on this subject although I doubt it can be done. Personally I would focus on cleaning the heatsink and fan ...

Hello, Yes, they are both compatible with each other. for your future reference, the way to determine this is to look at the socket type. In this case both sockets are AM3, so they are compatible.
