Hi In Device Manager are their any yellow ! marks by any device, if so what? If you open Computer Management > Disk Management (click Start and type computer managment in the Start Search box to open Computer Management) and then put in your media card and see if it lists in the list of Disks/Volumes, if it does and its not still viewable in My Computer then right click it in Disk Management and choose Change Drive Letter and Paths and...

UPDATE! I uninstalled SP3 and shut down. Then I took out the new LAN card, booted back up, installed the new driver again (first this time before inserting the card). Shut down and installed the new card, then booted back up. LOW AND BEHOLD! I have a new device with a driver that works........ plugged in, got into the network fine, zipping along. Don't know what made it work this time, but just glad it did. Made me wonder if I had turned...

Connect your external via a USB, shutdown and then enter the BIOS by tapping the F2 key upon boot. Check under drives in the bios and see if the external is seen.

So i got everything in order, i took out my after maket video card and everything is working! but now i'm having trouble connecting to the internet and my service pack isn't working. . . Would SP3 work?

I was wrong i did it again this time i hit update driver then pointed to the folder containing the xp driver it told me it was the wrong driver then asked me if i wanted to troubleshoot the reason i said yes and it ran it in xp mode and bang it works

Bro I dont know how to check the Bios. This use to have windows home. THats how it came from sony since its a sony vaio. But I reformatted it and put windows professional. Before I did that I had a C and a D drive. Now I have all my space in the C drive only. So I have one drive. That's all I know. I also installed several drivers from sony site. So network drives, mouse drives, so on and so forth. It sucks man. Thanks

PCI Modem Has No Driver

here is an example. I just tried to restore my iphone. to no avail. No matter what i did it didn't work. it kept shooting error 1604. Then I disabled the PCI enhance USB 2.0 and did it again. it worked. Slow as heck, but it worked. So it's obviously a problem specific to USB 2.0 any hints as to how to fix this?

I went here and downloaded and unziped the driver ... before I started I uninstalled the audio controller ... then rebooted the system .... then went the new hardward wizard came up I when through the prompts until I got to have disk ... then I when into the unziped files ... I didn't know where to look so I just started click down the line until I saw a win2000 and xp file ... I clicked on it and it open and...

When you boot from the install disc you are given options on standard or advanced install.....Standard will install to primary c:/ by default.
Advanced will let you select which drive/partition you would like to install windows on after which you have to physically select the drive letter and click the format button before install.
Unless you tried to install windows on your external, ...

according to the site, its only letting you get vista 32 bit

when i chose 64bit, it didn't have that option listed. Do you have the genuine windows sticker on the bottom of the laptop?

how do you have the audio hooked up? do you have it going into the sound card via the mic port? or line in? whatever recording software you are using needs to have the correct input device selected. and the volume settings correctly set in the computer's mixer. I've tried this recently (not with the same device as you) and I have found that alot of software wont recognize the RCA audio input,...

Maybe quicker in some respects to have gone through with the call as internet tech support could take longer, although you can do it in your own timeframe and that of the person/s helping you.
What we will need is some info about your PC as Soundmax drivers can be customised for customers as in Intel, ASUS, HP etc
