My battery is 22 months old now and it only charges to 95%. CoconutBatterys show about 45% capacity compared to a new battery. Tonight I went to battery power and it said I had 1 hour and 25 minutes. Well, after I got to about 55 minutes, the fans start running wide open, and at that point, the battery goes down to 0 in just a few minutes instead of running another 30 minutes....

Last night I tried to shut down my macbook and it simply wouldn't turn off. I went into the apple menu, chose shut down, waited for a bit until a screen would appear saying that the application "finder" would not close and that I should try to force-quit it, but when I brought up the force quit menu, there was nothing to be seen. I've tried logging out first as well but that gives me the same...

My I book G4 exhibited the same problem all of a sudden last night. I called my brother who suggested I remove the battery and try to find a reset button (which I didn't find!...does anyone know where that is?). Anyway I restarted the computer without the battery, only using the power connected to an outlet. Everything came back, but I have no idea why! I would like to know how ...

Lately my MacBook has been shutting down unexpectedly when the battery gets sort of low and I don't get any warning. The first time it happened at about 12 % and then at about 15%, 21% and again at 30%. It runs fine when plugged in. Battery health in System Profile says it has 286 cycles and to check battery. Does the hardware test on the install disk check the battery? I've ...

I run my MBP 15" without the battery in, only with the power cord attached, to save on the battery lifespan. A few times someone or I have tripped on the cord, shutting down the Mac while a Time Machine backup was in progress. Does this accidental shutdown damage the MBP's hard drive or the external drive I'm using for Time Machine? Thanks a lot for the help.

To start with, I set up my MacBook (running Tiger) to just hibernate, rather than going into the default sleep mode, done with "sudo pmset -a hibernatemode 1". I did this at least a year ago (after bringing my laptop with me, forgetting the power cable, and discovering that two days of standby means a dead battery). Sometimes, when I wake up my computer from hibernation, the keyboard ...

I have a MacBook 2.4 ghz, 4 gigs RAM... I am using the latest version of Tbird. I don't think this problem is on my end... but a client insists she only has this problem with my emails. She claims that (SOMETIMES) when she prints out my emails, they print out too small to read. She is in a business and gets loads of emails. They are a PC based system. Anyone have any ideas? Would ...
