Sound Forge... ah Yes! I've used that for the past 9 years along with CD Architect. What fond memories! IMHO... Audacity is a great program... definitely not compared to SF but you are pretty much get what you pay for (FREE) going the freeware route. Recently I've tried out Audiofile's Wave editor which to me is the closest audio editor program to mimic SF for a Mac. There is also NCH Software's Wavepad but it's not as...

I know the budget it tight but I wonder if Amadeus Pro - Audio editor / sound and voice recorder for MacOS X would meet your needs. It's not free but the site license isn't unreasonable. The author has an excellent history of updating the program.

Henvan20, did you manage to do this in the end? I am trying to do the same, but I just want to listen to myself on my headphones while I sing. How do i get the mic to go through my output?

Problem with Logic Pro Plug-ins
Published (2009-12-15 12:26:00)
There is one place, and one place only that Logic looks for plug-ins. Any other location won't be recognized. Usually Library/Application Support/ Logic/Plugins from what I can remember. You may also need to launch the Plugins Manager (in the Preferences) to have Logic scan and activate the plugins. Take a look through the section of Logic's online Help system to learn more about the Plugins Manager.

Protools vs Pro logic
Published (2009-12-21 17:00:00)
Both are very good pieces of software, but I lean more towards Logic. I haven't used the latest version of Pro Tools LE (i think the last I used was version 7), but I personally found it a little annoying to use. I can't quite put my finger on why, but thats just how I feel. Getting an M Audio or Digidesign interface and software bundle is nice because it cuts down on the initial hardware and software investment. The downside is that...

What are you needing to do this for? The only thing I can think of would be remote access. If you shared your entire iTunes library it would be almost the same thing (depending on what you need to remotely access your application for).

Max from sbooth.org Awesome software and a very good ripper using the right settings. You could just use iTunes btw,it handles WAV, but it has other uncompressed formats like AIFF, or Apple Lossless too. Both will access the Gracenote database for tags etc.

Focusrite makes the Liquid line that are external and best of all... they are FireWire!!! I've been eyeing that UAD-2 Solo for my MBP so when running Logic 9 and it's plug-ins it won't tax my processor. Once i get the feel of Logic and it's own plug-ins, I'll probably reattack looking at the Solo if I need it or not.

If you right click on your song, select Get Info, and the Info tab, you can select (highlight) the text in the Title field that you want to move, then drag it over to the Artist field/column. Does that help?

I realize that you are looking for a comparison. I've not used Pro Logic but I am a ProTools LE user and am not sorry about my choice. I'm using it with an MBox2 and except for the lack of 64bit support, have no complaints. I purchased the bundle since I also use the MBOX with Final Cut Pro.

Welcome to Mac Forums Faris! Just curious, but what program did you use for 6 years on a PC? I'm just asking because I came from using Cubase on PC to now having Logic 9 on my MBP. Garageband is a great program for tracking basic arrangements for songs. With Pro-Tools you will need to use only M-Audio gear with it. Logic, to me, is the big dawg. I am still learning it even from the ...

I'm guessing you mean having access to your iTunes library on your Mac from your PC? This can be easily done, and is native on iTunes. Apple - iTunes - What's new - Explore the new iTunes.

I have my own dedicated server, from which I run several sites and casting software - using Nicecast on my mac and Cast Controll on the server. Is this a one of broadcast you are doing or will it be ongoing - if ongoing, how often? If its a one of, I may be able to host / run the cast for you.
