You can buy factory unlocked phones from reputable vendors, but they will cost more than the AT&T price plus $175 cancel fee. 3G unlocked-$599

The 3GS was made for jailbreaking. Because of its faster processor and double RAM there are zero lags even under heavy theming.

Does anyone know if there is a way that I can keep, say, both O2 and T-Mobile's GPRS and MMS settings on the phone, and switch between them when I switch SIM cards over? I tried using BenM mobile configs, and got two installed. But what happened when I tried to change from no 2 back to no 1 was that when I selected it in Settings General Profiles it only had the "uninstall" option available, I could not see how I could...

Having a couple of problems lately. First off, my weather won't update. No matter what day of the week it is, it shows Friday as the first day and a high of 62 and low of 55. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, deactivated, reactivated, changed the city in my default weather app... Nothing will change it. Second. After installing and trying a LockInfo theme and deciding I didn't like it, my Todo plugin no longer works. It's...

There are a lot of winterboard themes that change the keyboard sound, search around and you'll probably find one that you like. Also, there's hapticpro (paid app), which vibrates the iPhone when you type.

If you're thinking about resale value and you have the 4.26.08 baseband, you should definitely use PwnageTool to create a custom firmware. Since you don't mention unlocking at this point, I assume you are with an official carrier. You should make sure to uncheck the "Activate" option in expert mode so that PT won't create a hacktivated firmware.

Bravo. I don't have the patience to do all of that. Do you have a 3G S? If not, do all of those extensions you have installed slow down the phone much? I hope you have it backed up somehow.

Same thing happened to me.
Iphone 3GS on 3.1.2 with custom IPSW from pwnagetool.
As soon as I hit reboot the phone started booting displaying the pineapple logo and then after 10 seconds it would shut off.
After trying to rebout it about 20 times I put it in DFU mode.
Instead of going thru the restore I hit power/home buttons together again and the pineapple logo appeared again but ...

I cannot help you with youre issue, however after reading your problem, I wanted to ask you where (state or country, not address) you live, where they are allowed to do such a thing. I know here in GA, in the USA that would be very very unethical, and possibly unconstitutional.
Im just curious.

Hmm, the only times I seem to get stuck on the bootscreen are after installing an app or doing something like a network settings reset. It's good to have OpenSSH installed on the phone to save you the agony of doing a restore, though you still need a computer to get your phone working again.
Getting stuck on the bootscreen is my only real gripe with the iPhone. There really needs to be ...

Are you able to restore it to the apple firmware via itunes? If not try and put it into DFU mode.

I have posted this info on different forums, but nobody seems to care about posting back to see if it fixes the issue or not, only I can tell you is that my friend's 2G Tmobile Iphone is sending and receiving MMS as usual.
Go to your Network/Cellular Data Network Settings and be sure that you have in MMS Max Message Size - 614400, if not enter this value and reboot your iPhone and try ...

Don't install ultrasn0w. It is not designed for the 5.11.07 baseband, and installing it will do nothing to fix the problem that resetting network settings would not do. Geohot has spoken about this on Twitter, saying it is a ridiculous thing to do. He says if people have noticied any correlation between ultrasn0w and restored WiFi it is simply because installing ultrasn0w restarts ...
