Personal Finance Apps - TODAY! -...

So, I'm wondering if I should just run YNAB(you need a budget) on Windows via Parallels OR go with the native Mac app 'iBank'. Besides the obvious, working on Windows and not native Mac argument, what's the benefit of one app or the other at this point? I'm going either for sure, just trying to see if I missed anything that someone can bring to light. Any pros/cons either way? Thanks! ~e

Chicken of the VNC Preferences
Published (2009-11-07 17:37:00)
I have the same versions. I haven't used COTV in a few months as I use Screen Sharing to connect my other Macs and haven't needed to connect to my Windows machine. I noticed it listed my Mac Mini in the list and the IP was already filled in and un-editable. Also, like yourself, it could not be removed using the - button. It's because COTV is using Bonjour to discover machines with VNC sharing enabled. This can be turned off...

Unsure of what program to use!...
Published (2009-11-07 00:41:00)
i wish i could help, sorry. i think the full disk extraction on mactheripper is for those who want to burn "back-up" exact copies of their dvds although the quality will be much less on a copy since the movie is compressed to fit on a 4.7 gb disc. I have no idea how to make a file that has menus. it would be cool to have an iTunes extras type file to play via iTunes.

Adobe flash player security????

You already have it, Flash is pure crap but you need it for that site your having problems with. I think you have an old version, try upgrading from the link I gave you. Then you can install click2flash if you want. It controls when and how flash loads on your system.

Parallels 5 or Snow Leopard bug?
Published (2009-11-07 11:22:00)
Every time Parallels 5 adds/removes Windows application folders from the Dock, my JAR files that are docked also get removed. This is obviously a bug, but I'm not sure which is to blame.

Could it be corrupted? Open /users/yourusername/library/logs/crashreporter and see if that shows anything.

If the remote machine is not on a network that you are logged onto already then I dont think so.. the IP is the correct way of finding it.
Is the machine at another location, or on the same network in the same building?
Rather than faf around with this I have taken to using logmein.com There is a free version for home use which I find very handy for logging into my dads PC ...

Virtual Machines are not made for gaming. All the hardware is virtual, meaning that it is no even close to as powerful as the native hardware. While I've gotten a few games to run in VMWare Fusion, they never run at full speed. While the newest versions of Fusion and Parallels have enhanced graphical support, I am not sure if they will be able to game any better. Most of the enhancements ...

I've noticed this with Unison since 10.5.8, does it in 10.6 too. Not really sure what Apple changed, but it is annoying.

I have been experiencing these SAME problems. It seems like almost ALL video sites give safari a brain fart. I've sent HUNDREDS of complaints through the bug report system telling them how ridiculous it is. I have no idea why either. My system is running fine in all other aspects. It's a recent problem too. Maybe 2-3 months now? I at the point where I'm gonna just stop using it. ...

VMware Fusion 2 was an excellent product. To a lesser extent, VMware Fusion 3 is as well. The current release suffers from some performance issues and as a result has created some disgruntled users over on the VMware forums. That said, a VMware employee has referred to the latest OS X 10.6.2 patch as potentially resolving some of the performance issues that Fusion 3 currently suffers from. ...

You don't need one on a Mac. Every print dialogue box should have a " Save As PDF" button on it: anything you can print can be saved as a PDF.

I'm not sure you know what you want coz Time Machine is meant for taking snap shots of your computer's states at different points of time so that if anything goes wrong or a file gets deleted, you can just revert back in time.
What you seem to be needing is something like a large backup drive. For time Machine anything works as long as its larger than or equal to your primary drive, ...
