Check your save settings too, you may be saving as a really compressed jpeg (quality 7 is normally decent for viewing on computers). What is your original file format? What file format are you saving too (and settings if there are any)?

One of my many complaints about Aperture. I get that sluggishness more often than not now that my Aperture library is quite large. But yes, if the program is rendering previews, it will be even worse.

Hi, This canon lens: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search...tialSearch=yes is $200 more expensive than this very similar lens: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc..._6G_ED_VR.html But WHY ??? If they are almost, if not the same thing !!! Isn't a bad move from Canon to introduce a lens with a more expensive price than Nikon, (that is already in the market) ?? In advance, thank you for your comments, igmolinav.

Jesse,
I like the clean look of the site. Gives it a more polished look.
As for the content, I agree that MP and zoom are the first two specs that typical buyers look for, but as you know, they can be misleading and/or irrelevant.
For instance, as you've pointed out, the higher MP count doesn't necessarily translate to better pictures. Sometimes they come out worse regarding...

I've read the link provided to luminous landscapes. It was an interesting read and I'm sure the lad who wrote it is a pro when it comes to the science and black art of colour management.
I don't use any of the adobe photo products he mentions. Currently I use Photo Elements 8, which I have never printed from. ( But I will give that a whirl ) I use Apple's Aperture 2 because I like ...

Birding is one of the most expensive types of photography. To get good pictures of large birds, you need at least 300mm, and that's if the birds are relatively tame and approachable, or if you can get into a blind that's well-positioned. For smaller birds, you need 400-1200mm. If you are shooting under canopy, or just after dawn or just before sunset when birds and wildlife are most ...

The 50mm would have a front lens cap as would all lenses you buy. Did you buy used? Seems as though they forgot it.

Have you looked at the structure of an SD card coming right from your camera?
They usually have some folders, specific to the model sometimes, in which pictures go.
Also the camera might use another JPEG profile than you did save the pictures you wanna have a look at in.
What camera do you have and where do you put the images and what JPEGs do you use?

When you have the Crop tool selected, check out the toolbar at the top.
Are there any values in the width, height and resolution fields? If so, use the clear button to the right of them to remove and reset things back to normal.

When you convert a RAW file (whether it be .nef .orf. or whatever canon uses) to DNG you aren't adjusting anything.

a 35mm on dx is not a wide angle, it is pretty close to 50mm equivalent which is standard. The 35mm will be good for night shots and I would recommend it, or the sigma equivalent. Getting a wideangle prime for a crop sensor is tricky. I used the 20mm f2.8 but it isn't even that wide on DX (but ultra wide now I have moved to full frame). It won't focus on the D5000. Sigma is probably the...

That Tamron lens will be FAR wider on the 5D than the 7D.
If video isn't a concern and you don't need to do prints larger than 24x36 then an original 5D should be a consideration. Optically, it is as good as the mark II - and you'll have a lot of money left over for some new glass. Glass makes the images, not as much the camera itself.

Some CF cards have recovery software that either comes with the card or that can be downloaded from their site. I know lexar cards can do this and some from sandisk.

The human eye is way more sophisticated than any camera, adapting instantly to changes in lighting. So something that 'looks' OK to us may present problems to a camera: specifically, the ability to record very dark/light areas simultaneously. There are many 'work-arounds': grad filters, HDR, exposure bracketing, some PP tweaking, etc. But a very bright light is going to be a 'blown ...

No, a single RAW file will not give you an HDRI. You need to take at lease 3 bracketed shots to get good results.
