Steam sale, again!

My machine won't, there's something in the U3 engine that just throws performance out the window on this computer. Bioshock (hybrid Unreal Engine 2+3) also plays poorly. Which is funny because L4D1 and 2 both run well (50-60fps). And GRID is awesome! I've been looking for a really good quality racing game to get my teeth into. I think this is it .

Anti-aliasing is the biggest frame rate reducer there is, so don't turn it on. Make sure you have it running at your screen's native resolution. In Nvidia control panel, I have it set to Single Display Mode in 3D settings. I'm not sure what else you can do other than to overclock after that.

I know you said FPS, but I can't help recommend this game. If you're a Road Warrior fan you MUST download Flatout 2. Racing monster muscle classics and ripping the panels off of them. The sound effects and physics and feel is just enveloping, add on top of that a Van Halen Pandora radio station and make Max mad jelluz 8O I played this game at the highest settings on my MacBook 2.4ghz Aluminum without a single catch, it didn't...

Just noticed that my reply to the OP is at a tangent with the WOW reference. Must have been answering a question from another poster in another thread. Apologies for any confusion. EDIT: Scrap that. Thread title was obscured when I posted.

What's the highest resolution they support? What's your monitors resolution? That's probably why. Windowed mode would be the only way to get them to look good.

VMWare Fusion is not just slower, its emulated and virtualized. It's not real hardware being accessed, it's all software so its going to be slow. If you want to play L4D2, Boot Camp is literally the only option to play it smooth and like a real computer.

Here's another addition to the bootcamp games on a MBPro 13 inch 2.26ghz Ge Force 9400M and 2GB memory. Dragon Age Origins: Runs perfectly playable and plenty smooth with default settings. The defaults for Dragon Age will be: 800x600 resolution, No AA, Max High Texture Detail, and Low graphic detail settings. However, I would advise, for continual great performance to keep all the settings with the exception of the graphic detail. The...

Heyhey,
Sadly we had some delays that were beyond our control, so that's why it hasn't appeared yet. Rest assured though that Rome is alive and well! I can't give any dates right now, I'm afraid, apart from 'soon'. Best I can suggest is to keep checking our site for updates.
If you've got any more questions, I'll answer as much as I can!

Just finished BioShock using Bootcamp.. Too bad you can get it for the PC for less then $20 now, maybe even lower. BioShock2 might interest me. But I couldn't see spending $49.99 for a game that is that a few years old.

I, for one, hope so. I enjoy playing Counter Strike, but nothing annoys me more than slow crossover and fusion gaming.
